Anyone have trouble with colour output on new TV's? The resolution I can deal with, but I just recently bought a 64 to get back into Mario Kart and the snow tracks are impossible to play. the tracks and surrounds just blend into one another. Have tries adjusting brightness/ contrast etc but no luck. The rest of the tracks are ok. Cheers

Nah mate, mine has been surprisingly good. Just had to change the resolution so it didn't stretch it to widescreen and was all good!!

Anyone know how to get a 64 working on a smart TV? Works fine on the other TV which is relatively new as well. Tried AV 1 and 2 and also plugging the yellow lead in to the Y input. Also tried an RF adapter but couldn't pick anything up on tuning.

Any thoughts? I'm guessing it just won't work for whatever reason.

Get an old TV it's the best way to play retro consoles imo.

The TV may have trouble accepting the type of signal output from the N64, in which case there's not much you can do outside of buying other hardware eg. an XRGB device (not cheap). The RF adapter won't work unless the TV has an analog tuner. I'd just play it on the TV that works.

It actually does have an analog tuner. I've tried tuning auto and manual. I've read it's at 591mhz but nothing comes up. Fwiw C 37 is 59000khz bit nothing comes up.

What's the model number of the TV?
UE65HU8500
get a CRT from a pawn shop for like 30 bucks. find one on gumtree for free! i would never play old games on a new TV, you'll just get issues and it'll look bad, plus it FEELS wrong

Yeah I'm just more after the comfort and familiarity of my normal gaming setup. Change never hurt though. First world problems!

man i could not relate more, i was lucky enough to get a 55 inch LCD cheap last year but i can't move from my desk corner with my 27" monitors set up... desk/chair/27inch to couch/sitting back/giant tv is quite the switch whilst gaming... first world problems indeed >_>

So after a couple of hours I managed to get an emulator to run on my laptop. Then another couple of hours to get the DS4 to run not only wirelessly through the laptop but wirelessly through the emulator. Not sure if it is meant to be that hard but in the end I had to get it done.

Currently playing Conker's bad fur day on the big screen. Graphics are surprisingly good, can post some screens. Nostalgia level - strong.

Project 64.

The best N64 emulator.

Did a lot of reading and went with mupen64plus. Used to have project 64 but the sound was horrible. Found it easier to set up the controller with mupen too.

Getting massive frame rate drops for p64 and mupen for some games. Perfect dark is unplayable. Audio is choppy as **** too. I had all games working perfectly a few years ago on my old laptop.

Anyone know what settings to fiddle with? Using Glide for video plugin.
