At the end of the day, there was 1 major reason why the Tigers lost that game - NO BALLS, no nads, no kahuna's...

When the going gets tough, too many Tigers have got NO BALLS when it bloody counts. It happens all the time. Yesterday when the Blues upped the pressure in the 2nd half, the boys ultimately crumbled.

The main culprits are Johnson and Bowden. I don't want to stick it to the young guys, but Tambling & Pattison are not much chop either.

Kudos to Trent Cotchin - the youngest bloke and probably already our best player. I love the way this kid plays :thumbsu:

Johnson should not have been brought back, should have been given that extra week.

Tambling and Pattison didnt deliver

Bowden was ok without being brilliant

I agree with another poster "who posts positive unlike yourself" in that Carlton out ran us

Should have had Jackson do a run with(tag) on Stevens
Should have moved Brown to the backline and put his tagger Carazzo out of his element
Should have kept Richo in the pocket - When he is there Richmond seems to play more direct football

We were beaten by a side that became more focussed when Judd was omitted, it spurred them on

We only fell away in the last qtr, game was in our control until then.

The young Tigers will learn plenty from this, as a fade out in front of a big crowd is invaluable experience for the future.

Well done to TW and his assistants for persevering with the youngsters on the big stage yesterday, it'll set then up nicely for future big games :thumbsu:

We also lost because their middle tear players stood up and are more talented than our unfortunately. Stevens , Scottland , Carazo , Simpson and Wait all played well. Throw in their 3 number one draft picks coming along well and we got done.

Gibbs was exceptional yesterday , but why shouldn't he be.

I'd like to thank Carlton for Cotchin though. I think its a decision they will live to regret in future years. Isn't Kama a wonderful thing ,

Its unfortunate that when a young team like Carlton plays so well which they are capable of every know and then , they do not get the accolades they deserve because no one respects them because of last years disgracful tanking. Yesterday's win without Judd only show cases what a mockery they made of our great game last year by losing 11 games straight on purpose. It really is disgusting.

Spot on TigerTroy, hence why I dislike them so much, they continue to cheat the system and get away with it too.

Perceptive post:thumbsu: I mentioned to a mate that without Judd we only had to put a hard tag on Stevens and let the others have a 'free rein'. Jackson would have been the obvious choice. Instead we tagged the likes of Bentick and allowed Stevens some space.

West Coast are tanking, Port are tanking...it's not cheating...it's list management...a lot of teams have done it...not just us...so that completely destroys your ability to contradict me.

Yeah agree the Tigers again were Toothless , no grunt , Very few positives out of the game yesterday. Desperately need to recruit tough nuts willing to put their head over the ball or guys who get invovled in physical contests , warming to the idea at having a crack at Cousins might be able to show a few tigers how its done on the ground , the off ground issues are a concern but i am sick and tired of losing winable games of footy. Wallace was simply out coached by a guy who has coached 20 games or so , probably dont totally blame wallace but think the coaching situation needs to be looked at come seasons end.
Feel sorry for K.Moore thought he played well and didnt deserve to have 4 kicked on him.
K.Johnson ?????? just not sure what role he was playing yesterday is just way too negative in his roles and at times was unwilling to help team mates out in the fear his man might get the ball.
J.Bowden yeah he might not be the toughest footballer going around but i wouldnt like to play in the tiger backline , and thought he tried hard.
Can Not believe Hughes was named in the best had 1 good quarter other than that had 1 kick in the other 3.
Cotchin another good game but lets hope some others develop around him he surely wont be asked to carry this rabble on his shoulders.
N.Foley descision making isnt a strong suit.

******** Best wishes to G.Polak ***********************
Hope to see you back in the tiger colours get well soon

We were shit all day, its just that Carlton weren't playing any good either until the 4th. Johnson, Brown and Foley were awful and are the main culprits, not Pattison and to a lesser extent Tambling. Bowden was one of the few who continued to try and create opportunities.

For those who bag Kingy, at least late in the game, he was still chasing hard and putting pressure on the Carlton ball carriers.

FFS do you watch the game at the gound live where you can actually see who really works hard? bc if you did you would see bowden is the only ONLY defender who doesnt run fwd to create an extra option, gives the ball off sideways and backwards and only goes fwd wen he has the ball NOT to support selflessly like ALL playrs should!

deledio amd cotch were gr8 yestersday, but we only had 1 leader...TUCK

its time we made tuck captain fullstop. foley and newman are pretenders and we should be smart and trade them for high draft picksm they are tradeable people, have reputations way above their talents

Well done to Peter Sassegum who never expects Richmond to ever win a game. Even against a young Carlton team without Chris Judd.

You could also see him running towards the goals as his man stood about 60 metres from goal, by himself with the ball and chipped it to fev for an easy goal which started their run in the last 1/4

Is Peter SasseGum actually Terry Wallace.

How can learning to fade out in front of a big crowd be a positive unless you are looking to perpetuate a non-achieving culture.

Richmond have a couple of potential champions in Cotchin and Deledio but they are set for unfulfilled careers while Wallace perseveres with a soft style. He was responsible for turning the dogs into an undersized and soft combination.

The Bulldogs found his move to Richmond worthwhile because they were able to unload 2 of their softies in Patrick Bowden and Jordan McMahon.

Dont know about Tuck as captain but it sure cant be argued that he is 1 of our few genuine hard players who does what has to be done to get/attempt to get the ball. I often read in here that we need this type ,well here is one we have got and he cops constant baggings.
He has been in our best every week for the past month.

Eat em alive Tigers

TT, well said. I saw Tambling pull out twice at cruical stages. If it is a line in the sand game, then let's make a statement with this guy and send him to Coburg.

Needs to get a bit more urgency and bravery . It is hard to believe he went at no 4.

Tuck is terrible and endemic of the carryover from Frawley. Tuck was good against Port. His involvement in the game on Saturday was minimal. Pathetic like most of our other leaders on the day: Johnson, Brown, Newman. None of them stood up when it counted.

He was picked at 4 because he was by far the best available player.
Hawthorn were super keen on him, and were disappointed when we selected him.

No doubt that Tambling was a stand out at 4, Tigers would have been crazy to pass on him.

Well done to TW and the Tigers coaching/development staff for giving Tambling the opportunites on the big stage, and obtain the experience to make him a star for the Tigers :thumbsu:

LMAO!

You will be waiting a long time for him to be any good.
