The words came straight from the horses mouth.

"Nah, no go, maybe next week" that's what Chris Johnson said yesterday as he walked off the training paddock. :(

Think we'll miss him again this week.

Hang in there C. J. :)

cheers ... Kaz

Bother.

Makes it very tough with CJ out and so many others under clouds.

Time to take the bull by the horns:

B: Ash McGrath, Mal Michael, Martin Pike
HB: Chris Scott, Justin Leppitsch, Nigel Lappin
C: Brad Scott, Michael Voss, Jason Gram
HF: Shaun Hart, Luke Weller, Luke Power
F: Craig McRae, Daniel Merrett, Blake Caracella
R: Jamie Charman, Simon Black, Aaron Shattock

I/C: Robbie Copeland, Clark Keating, Tim Notting, Richard Hadley

In: Daniel Merrett, Blake Caracella, Tim Notting, Luke Weller, Richard Hadley
Out: Daniel Bradshaw, Alastair Lynch, Jonathan Brown, Jason Akermanis, Marcus Ashcroft

I think that's about right. Rest all those doubtful. I know that this is a fantasy team.

What about Lynchy? Heard he's in doubt too. Aker? JB?
Lynchy trained with main group and practised his goal kicking so ... who knows.
Aker? He didn't train with the main group, didn't do anything bar laps around the oval. Someone asked if he was playing this week as he came off the field, he ignored the person and run down the tunnel into the dressing shed. So as I said ... Aker??? Your guess is as good as anyone's.
Browndog ... he didn't train with the main group, bit of running and handball skills. He doesn't know as yet if he's right to play. Seemed happy enough within himself, so you never know.

cheers ... Kaz

Aker has a bulging disc which puts pressure on a specific nerve which then spasms and causes his muscles to tighten up. Earlier this week he had a nerve root injection to try and relieve his back related hamstring problem.

He was not expected to train on Wednesday and will make the call later today on whether the treatment has helped sufficiently to put him on the paddock on Saturday.

According to Jason his chances of playing are "pretty high".

No reports of any injuries to Lynch.

Hehe yeah read that yesterday - trust Aker to go in for something "out there". Here's hoping it works and they can give it to Brownie as well. According to the papers today Lynchy has a bit of a groin problem...

Yeah I just read that too re Lynch. Let's hope it is just a "little soreness" as stated and not something that will be exacerbated by playing. With 7 games to go before September we need to be starting to recover from the injuries and regaining our strength.

The Footy Show in Melbourne are advertising that Aker is going to be on the panel tonight. So regardless of whether he is playing, he's definately making the trip.

Also, I'm on the Russell Athletic mailing list and they sent me a letter last week saying that there will be 4 Lions players at their Warehouse sale in Rowville on Sunday after the Essendon game. Players listed inlcuded Aker and Whitey. They'll be there between 11.30 and 12.30.

I haven't seen any other advertising on this from the Lions admin themselves.

I hope that Aker, Lynchy and Browny make the trip and play against the Bombers because I want the Lions to thrash the living daylights out of them.

Browny joined in with the main group towards the end of training (Beausgirl was busy doing BRITS duties at that stage and missed it). He'd be a reasonable chance to get a run unless his fitness takes a turn for the worse before the end of the week.

Lynch doesn't move out of the goal square on match day. He'll play.

The player I'm not allowed to mention did little more than jogging and stretching. Would be the most doubtful starter of the trio.
