We're in a grand final :)
AND WE WILL WIN THAT GRAND FINAL.:thumbsu:

You all know my posts, I am super positive at the worst of times, but I firmly believe, in my heart, and in my head that we will win this game.

That fightback on Friday Night was the stuff of legend, it will be the story you tell your grand kids in years to come, the night that the great Collingwood team of the early century won from nowhere, and went on and won the flag.

It reminded me of Brisbane in 03, who looked gone against the Swans in Sydney, but then just turned it on when it mattered and got home, and we all know how good they were the next week.

WE WILL WIN.:)

Great thread, Let's all be positive and no more rumors or worries about injuries. The 22 who will play will do us proud.

And don't get sucked in by the crap media or biased radio/tv callers. After all only 2 weeks ago buddy's leg was going to be amputated if you believed the media hysteria.

Go Flagpies !

Lol us vs AFL the cats board has a thread from all other teams wishing them well against us lol at gutless hangeroners so desperate to see us bleed for theyfailed oh the sweetness of there tears feed them to me !

We will win the 2011 Grand Final. As a member of the Greatest sporting club in Australia it is time for our supporters to be Bullish. I can't believe how many negative posts I have seen from fellow Magpies fans this weekend... I know for a fact that our players won't roll over and they deserve the same attitude from their supporters. I almost feel betrayed after reading Bigfooty today, it's time to stop bowing down to the peer pressure (of everyone saying we are no hope) and start standing up for your club. Even if we do lose (which we won't) I would prefer to stick up for my team and go down with the ship, than to cave in like a little p*ssy and say they're better before the game has even started!

THEY AREN'T BETTER THAN US! They are the ones with something to prove, not us. The only way they can prove they are better than us is to beat us on Grand Final day and that isn't going to happen. We are the reigning premiers and we are defending the premiership in the Grand Final. We will be the 2011 Premiers and it won't be a miracle when it happens. GO PIES!!!!!!!!

The one positive from the Hawks game (apart from making the GF :)) is that we just reminded everyone why they hate us so much.

When we win, BF will go into meltdown and there will be some very very shy pussy cats around 5pm Saturday.

Here's a positive. Patellar dislocations occur with significant regularity, particular in young female athletes.[1] It involves the patella sliding out of its position on the knee, most often laterally, and may be associated with extremely intense pain and swelling.[2] The patella can be tracked back into the groove with an extension of the leg, and therefore sometimes returns into the proper position on its own.[2]

Most people are able to pop the patella back into place, in which a “snap” is heard upon complete leg extension.

Two types of treatment options are typically available:

•surgery (open or arthroscopic)

•conservative treatment (rehabilitation).

Regardless of the treatment option chosen, a rehabilitation program of usually 6–16 weeks will follow.[7] Choosing an appropriate treatment depends on a number of factors, including associated injuries with bone fragments or injuries to the soft tissues around the knee. Also things like the patients age, sports and activities they participate in, level of competition, and time needed to return to work and/or sport participation are all very important factors to consider. According to most research, surgery is strongly suggested in cases where other structures in the knee are severely damaged, or specifically when there is: [7]
• Concurrent osteochondral injury
• Continued gross instability
• Palpable disruption of the medial patellofemoral ligament and the vastus medialis obliquus
• High-level athletic demands coupled with mechanical risk factors and an initial injury mechanism not related to contact

Research appears to indicate that the conservative approach, avoiding surgery, is the preferred method of treatment wherever possible.[4][8][7] In comparing the rates of re-injury, function of the knee, and patients subjective opinions of their knee function and stability, the best available evidence found no significant differences between surgical and conservative treatments[4][7] This suggests surgery is much less desirable, as there are inheritant complications that can arise from surgery, such as adverse reaction to anesthesia, as well as infections.[8] In particular, surgery for children or adolescents who have not completely matured skeletally are contraindicated, as there is a risk that surgery may injure growth structures in the knee.[8][7]

Supplements like glucosamine and NSAID's could be used to keep the knee strong.[5]

lol thank you DW for such enlightening uplifting positive news. I will add to your news and hope that any particular person with such an injury recovers in say 3 to 4 weeks instead of 6 to 16. :)

Great to see Crawf reads Bigfooty and wanted to contribute to the thread.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

He is right about the Malthouse factor though, everyone of those players love him, they will go out and play till they can play no more, then they will be rotated off, and go again, hehe.

We have so much going for us, I can see this being a win for the ages.

Agreed.

You could tell from the way Maxy and Heater have spoken that at 3QTR time the boys knew they had to lift for Mick and give it their all and they somehow overcame the Hawks and won.

Just 120 minutes left before we can equal the Bombers and Blues if we believe!

The Malthouse factor is huge. I can't believe all these people saying we have less motivation than the Cats because we won last year, that's crap. The players don't want to let Mick down, watch the last quarter from last night if you can't see it. They are HIS boys and they'll fight for him no matter what.

I'm confident now, bring on game time!!!! :D

I couldn't care less for people's theories or past results, it means nothing going into the GF. If the Pies play well they can easily win. It's all about being switched on going into the game and making the most of your chances.

As for the lead up, it's good to know the Pies can play well and not crumble under pressure. I don't think we've been playing poor footy, just not our best. It's there, it just all needs to click on the day.

Zactly.

Brions of '03 looked finished in the Prelim, last year we trashed Geelong and almost lost to scum kilda, the same scum kilda we've comfortably beaten in four of the last five games.

GF is a different kettle of fish, we have the talent, desire, heart and the personnel to do whats required.
Pussies won't know what hit them.
CARN THE MAGGIES!

Pussies will be feeling all nice and confident after dismantling the Eagles!
They'll probs start favourites. Current odds Cats $2, Pies $1.80 - we'll see how that holds up.

Looking at the Cats finals - they played sides who gave them more intensity in the home and away games.

Yesterday, the team who showed up must have been an "imposter". The Eagles only had about 4 blokes who really tried - NicNat, Priddis, Kerr and Waters.

They only made 49 tackles against the Cats - 49 tackles? What the hell is that? S. Selwood must have been asked by Mum not to play too close on Joel. ;)

Geelong played who they played - but from what I've seen - the Hawks they faced 3 weeks ago was not the one we faced and vice versa the Eagles - arm chair ride against two outfits who appeared off their game.

Really the Cats will face a motivated and fully pumped Pies next Saturday.

From what i've seen there is plenty of improvement left for us, those who are out of form can turn that around - blokes like Beams, Dids, Wellers will all want to show their best.

We have replacements for those who cant come up - just have to back the collective team effort - Mick's last game, Taz wants one, October - plenty of time for the coaches and boys to get together and plan this one game - execute well and results come.

I say we get Prelim 2010 on there arse and show no mercy! :p

Hit them hard, hit them early. Let them know we're here to play and we're not going to give in for Mick.

I personally hope their players go in with the sense they have this in the bag, because that is when we'll strike.

I saw Michael Horan tipped the Cats by 29 points. He's another negative fan who when I met him a few years ago said Mick was finished amongst several other players. But betcha bottom dollar if we win then he'll be on the bandwagon celebrating like he was a part of it.

I say you throw everything on the line. You either back us in or you don't. If you back us in and we win, then you have every right to celebrate on Grand Final Day. If you don't, then you can't just jump back on the bandwagon praising everybody.

CARNA' PIES! LETS MAUL THESE PUSSYCATS!

The Army has awakened

The players are emotionally charged and ready to go

The trap of being underdogs when we are really the 20-2 best team in the comp has been laid expertly, with special camouflage covering

I felt that in our finals our opponents appeared to have more to play for than Geelong's. Geel v Haw the Hawks could fight another day. Geel v WCE the Eagles appeared to be happy with 4th. Coll v WCE the Eagles were playing for the Grand Final given a home prelim and week's rest. Coll v Haw, the Hawks were also playing for the big prize after the shame and disrespect of the past 2 years of ineptitude, they brought their A game and went home without the win.

The defence has been recreated...and let's face it...defence wins flags

History there for the taking with 22 players putting their heart and soul into the match
