They don't deserve success with the absolute embarrassing performance that they put up tonight. Just like Geelong for three quarters...just like collingwood and just like essendon. Their forward structure is a joke. It doesn't matter if Petrie kicked four last week, he is not what he used to be. He cannot impact a game and when we have such terrible forward 50 entries, we need marks and stops to slow the game down and impact the scoreboard. We don't do either of that. Petrie or Tarrant drop the mark or paddle it down to a waiting Adelaide player where they run away with it. If we are playing well, our forwards will have excellent pressure or position and kick the goal. Fantastic. How many finals games, let alone premierships are won from crumbing forwards alone? None! So when Thomas, Boomer, Adams, Nahas etc. aren't in that great position then we are destroyed on the rebound. What a disgrace it is to be considered a genuine top 4 threat by beating Sydney, Port and the two WA teams and coming back against a Richmond rabble only to serve up what can only be considered a typical North Melbourne performance; lacklustre, unskilled, draining and demoralising. Nobody is an elite AFL coach on this board so we won't understand the complexities of the team week in, week out but I would like to think that anyone with an interest in NMFC can see that there is a major problem with the mental aspect of the team. I would like to think that this team has some belief in their skills and talent considering the wins they have accrued thus far so I am at a complete loss for words as to why they are so utterly awful at times. They have some very good players and for the most part, a solid stucture but if they don't sort out their key forward situation then I think it will be a very lean number of years for us ahead. It is very easy to blame Adams, Anthony, Firrito, Mullett or most of the team that is taking the blame for tonight on the Game Day thread but personally, I believe it solely rests on our forward line. We sit something like 17th for forward 50 entries so I think it is a miracle that we have had this many wins as it is. Last week was like a dream watching Petrie and Goldstein taking solid, strong marks and now it is just a pipedream once again. Don't know what is going on with Black..Have heard Petrie is no good every time he has a baby but still think he is done and Tarrant was a stupid decision to put in after one VFL game. So, what do we do?

Well if you look at my post history, I am not exactly a frequent poster, so forgive me for not expressing my relief of last weeks escape in such a public way. I agree that last week's third quarter was a good quarter and one that shows the talent North has but it was against Richmond and it was lucky all the same.

I am not coming on here saying drop this person and drop that person and sack the coach. I am on here to express my complete disappointment in a team that is promising so much yet falling so short. Something that this forum was created for! If you disagree with anything I have said then point it out and I will be happy to debate it with you but to just criticise my wall of text or the criticism of the team in general is just dismissing the problem completely.

Just another lazy response because there isn't the desirable sentence structure. Feel free to tell me what doesn't make sense or you don't agree with. Otherwise, I welcome some healthy discussion with others that are just as confused by the team's performance.

Firstly, thank you for actually addressing a point.

1. Based on their continual lack of performance when it matters most. They needed stand up to all the teams they have lost to but for whatever reason (and I don't believe it is skill or talent) they have fallen short. So, I stand by it that if they continue to be the inconsistent team they are then they don't deserve the September success that a good team demands.

2. You are paraphrasing to your advantage my friend. I said "It doesn't matter if Petrie kicked four last week, he is not what he used to be." I am implying that it was a one off against a below par team and he is not delivering what a key forward should. I stand by this point too.

3. I will give you this one, partially. What I meant was that we have a dual problem in that not only can Petrie not give us the game winning performance we need but our delivery is rather poor aswell.

Look, in the end you are entitled to your opinions whatever they are...I don't think I am the custodian of the NMFC BF page either...but I do get annoyed when being a regular to this page every day that you see these types of threads every single time we have a loss. But when we win as we did last week, this page was a ghost town except for the regulars during this past 6 days.

You have been here since 2011 and made 12 posts Nick2910...maybe if you are this passionate about the Club and its faults, you can drop by after a win and heap some praise on the ones you have pointed to tonight?
