Was just thinking about it today at the footy, but does anyone else think that Bonts looks like Bernard Tomic?
The bloke I sat next to was absolutely determined he looked like Bernard Tomic... He also said he kicked 1.2 from 3 shots this weekend...
Oh my god, was I sitting next to you?

Hahaha, unreal. Would never have known.
Haha yeah neither, small world. I'm still adamant that he looks like him. You're more than welcome to sit there as well, we have 2 seats spare next to us where you were sitting and its always good to have other passionate supporters around. My old man will enjoy your banter with the opposition as well haha

I can definitely see where you're coming from with the Tomic comparison but Bonts doesn't quite have the sneer, or propensity for driving flashy cars over the speed limit and then getting pissy at the cops. I can't see Bonts asking a police officer 'Do you know who I am?' Haha.

Sounds good, we'll sit there every week if your old man gets a laugh out of the rubbish that comes out of my mouth, haha. Gave the shockers fans in front of us a good laugh and they gave it back just as good. Love that about the footy.

Yeah definitely much different personalities, wouldn't see Marcus doing outlandish stuff like that but come on I'm onto something here with it haha. Yeah he loves it, the people around us are all nice, the women in front of us normally go nuts but they behaved today haha. There is a hot bird that would be sitting next to you as well, who wasn't there today unfortunately. Where abouts do you normally sit?

Having spoken to Marcus a couple of times he's a pretty down to earth bloke. Good sense of humour, not afraid to take the piss out of himself or others.
The people around us were great value, could have a laugh at the banter and still go off when Chamberlain makes a dick of himself.
That surprises me haha they seemed really quiet today, irritated me when they'd stand up at random but they sat down quickly enough.

We normally sit a couple of bays across from that to the right, the second last before that race that never gets used. Moved in closer to the cheer squad today because it was just so empty.

Oh trust me they go absolutely off sometimes, against Carlton and Richmond it was something else haha, was like they were a few old blokes with no regard to who was around. Yeah they do get up here and there, but as you said they sit down. The ones in front of them don't usually stand up which caused the women to get up I think, because normally they don't get up unless there is a goal.
Oh sweet, well yeah as I said there is space near us so more than welcome. Small world though haha

I'll have to wait and see, haha. If we go down to Brisbane they might come back out of their shells.

Sounds good, yeah I'm still a bit shocked haha, sat next to you for 3 hours and would never have known - wouldn't have made the connection either if you hadn't posted your Tomic-Bonts comparison.

Yeah never know, they get fired up a lot on shit calls, surprised they didn't lose it on a few occasions today.
Haha yeah that true, I just need validation about the comparison so I don't think I'm going nuts! Love chatting with those around us at the footy, has gotten a bit hairy a few years back but has been good ever since.

I think a few bays across to our right lost it in unison a few times but it's all good. If the umpires can't handle an angry crowd they've got no hope.

How did it get hairy? This is only the second year I've sat down on Level 1 at Etihad. Prior to that the worst I'd seen was a couple of Doggies fans nearly get into a fight over Liam Jones - one dickhead was screaming abuse at him, the other called him out on it and they came pretty close to punching on. Other than that it's always been pretty tame near me.

Luckily for dogs supporters there was no physical fights but ive seen plenty of verbal arguments along the way which have needed to be separated by security down there. Its gotten a lot better now due to a higher volume of younger kids and families. It was terrible when opposition supporters would be seated down our end as well, where it was common to see blokes want to go at it but luckily stopped by security. I have nearly gotten into a few punchons with opposition supporters but have never tried to intentionally start them.

Up in the outer is where the fights occur, its a whole new world up there haha

The cheer squad's been great in my experience, but I can understand how shit breaks out, only takes a couple of well placed insults and they're away. I don't get when opposition supporters come and sit dead set in the middle of our cheer squad but lately they've been pretty fun - those Freo blokes in front of us were having a laugh at my digs at Pav and Sandi and were dancing around when they'd kick a goal.

The worst I've had is getting into an argument at a neutral game (Collingwood-Geelong) for wearing a Dogs scarf in a queue for food, the moron had a crack and I had one back (not a great idea but you don't think on the spot, really - he was about 6'4 and I'm not that tall), but his mates had a laugh and told him to get on with it. Pretty silly to get too worked up but people do look for it.

The outer actually hasn't been too bad in my experience! You get the odd dickhead who's clearly out for trouble, but usually people just take the piss out of them and they move at half time.

Whats the point of Jordan Lewis being the AFL 360? The douche bag sits on the fence every story. Really grinds my gears

Yeah lately it has been fine, most people who come down have been well spirited but it was back in the day.

Its been the worst for me in the outer, almost been in a few punchons, only with Richmond or Collingwood supporters. Most people go with the same intentions but there is always that moron to ruin it for everyone.

Bloody Bootsma, how stupid could you honestly be doing that and thinking there will no be any repercussions for it?

Doesn't surprise me that you've had trouble at Richmond and Collingwood games - have come pretty close at a few neutral games involving Richmond at the G. They mostly just fight each other though, particularly in their cheersquad. Morons.

Honestly something about Bootsma made me cringe a little bit from the start - the hair, the look on his face, just everything about him seemed off. Hearing what he's done in detail wasn't pretty to listen to. Wonder where he goes from here, couldn't see another club picking him up even without this to stain his record.

Haha yeah typical young bloke in the AFL, just sucks for him he doesn't have the ability to go with it!

Can't see him getting picked up, would be an alright VFL defender as he has a massive boot, but if I was him I would chase cash in local footy.

Yeah, you're not wrong.

I'm not sure, depends whether or not local clubs want him. As ordinary as what he did is, it's pretty small time so he might get a few local gigs. All that matters is whether he can play footy or not, and he must've done alright at junior level to get picked up in the first round of a national draft. Think he's qualified as an electrician so maybe follow that up and chase some cash with footy.

I think he would get some interest, hes not a bad sized defender and can obviously play, so chasing coin at local level seems logical. Would get double the amount at local level rather than VFL unless he was teed up with an AFL affiliated club where he may be possibly drafted to. There are blokes who get $1500+ per week to play at local level so its obvious why so many past AFL/VFL players go back and chase coin.
