Being able to sit back and watch Poort get a total prison shower down at Geelong this afternoon, perfect weather today too.... :$ :$

Or they are playing like a team who knows how long the season is and is doing enough to win

Loss to GC by 6 points in Qld - looking like they had jet lag
Loss to Freo at the MCG by 1 point - not definitive
Loss to a likely finals opponent - Brisbane - could be the end of their taper

I get the feeling they are doing what they need to do

Then again I also though Sydney were unbeatable last year

What they need to do is win and secure top 2. They had that and they have gone 1-3 and are spluttering.

As nice as Pies winning last night would have been for securing top 2, the situation for us is simple, and has been since a month ago.

Win out, minor premiers. Our destiny is in our own hands.
Sure but if we drop the pies game , cats are a risk. If port can’t get the job done then will be going for swans

Really hope Adelaide can go all the way and win the Premiership this year. They have been by far one of the most enjoyable teams to watch from a neutral perspective. They are probably the most dynamic team in the league this season and can score very quickly.

Can their dominance be transferred to a Finals match in Melbourne? That's the big question. I hope it can be.

As Collingwood are starting to slip back, teams like Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong and even Freo are starting to make their move. Now (August) right through to the end of the Finals series is when a team needs to start playing their best footy. It's all about peaking at the right time.

I have also enjoyed watching Adelaide's development - they've been rebuilding since the 2017 Finals series, drafting players and getting players from other clubs etc and now its all starting to come together. Its a credit to Nicks (who's been under pressure the past few years) and everyone else at the club.

Hope it all goes well.

Cheers.

How to balance our love of Power getting smashed COMBINED with Cats losing %

Geelong lots of goals and points =238 points

Beats

Port 19 goals 5 behinds = 119 points

EDIT Sunday maths brain on with the above. Clearly doubling their score will INCREASE their %, so final score needs to be more 519 to 400 to lower their % whilst still winning by a magic number

Margin - a very special number

It has less impact now that Brisbane won, if we lose to Collingwood we are likely not make top 2 anyway
Lots of permutations still. IF Hawks beat Pies on Friday night it still could be crucial as only Cats and Lions can kick us out of top 2 assuming we lose Pies and win the other 2

The difference is we do it as a hobby, it is all they have.
Port have had a long, generous stretch of us being shit (the longest ever) as an opportunity to equal us on premierships.

Since we lost the grand final they have made the eight four times and played three prelims. No grand final appearances, no flags. Now we are returning to finals with a good chance to win a premiership. They are descending into the wilderness with nothing to show for all these years.

Have they reviewed their 5-year plan which required three premierships yet? ;)

That’s very “black and white” re recent results and finishing top 2. Unfortunately things haven’t fallen in our favour but they still could. Many permutations could have (may still) played out, but to me it’s extraordinary where a team who is premiership favourite, in white hot form, and has won 6 straight and 9 of 10, could possibly miss top 2 despite sitting on top of the ladder with 3 games to go and almost certainly win at least 2 more games to come.

Lose a close game to Pies, finish with 17 wins and a 140%+ and miss top 2 - ie 2 home finals - will feel very unfortunate. It is what it is though

Still have nightmares about one year under Craigy going from a top 4 position to moving out of it after IIRC Saints beat Dons by 20 goals in the last minor round to scrape over our %

This is the first time I've ever nodded in agreement to a Richmond supporter - sorry mate your club has left a deep scar on me. Tell jack to wind his ****in neck in.
