I expected it.

Poor character and lets just say he isnt the fittest bloke on the footy field which is one of the many reasons he couldnt get a game even beyond the threatening of opposition players. Would have had to have been a massive pre season just for him to get games next year.

Probably also an element of some players seeing the writing on the wall that they look set to be in for a good stint of pain. Hope Carr has the desire to rebuild because he is going to have to.
How do you rebuild with picks 24, 42 and 60?

They have very little of value to trade.

Man they are in for some hurt in the coming years.

well Butters and Bergmen leaving would be an excellent way to start getting long term talent into the club.
Bergman just re-signed for a couple of years, and doesn't sound like Butters is going anywhere this year.

They really will be scraping the bottom of the barrel. Not sure the delisted players will give them much extra cap space either.

Wonder if GWS will think about that Essendon game that had the worst side ever on the park and they should have won by over a 100?? Or the Bulldogs game that they got absolutely blown out.

The loss to Port in Canberra was probably the worst gane of football I watched all season. GWS could not have played any worse if they tried and they still nearly won.

Not sure about overall worst.

It’s highly unbalanced but at least it has star power unlike some others.

Problem for Port is they need an overhaul in defence. It’s essentially a 30 year old Aliir and nothing else.
What's worse is Aliir is 31 in about a weeks time. He just about played on crutches this year, he will need to get his body right for next season or the end will come very soon for him.

Can someone explain to me like I’m five why Geelong won’t play any finals at Geelong?

I thought that was the whole point of the redevelopment.
Because the redeveloped capacity of Kardinia Park is not enough for the people at AFL House who only see dollar signs.

It may be a graveyard for the Crows, but I believe Geelong should have the right to host home games and home finals in their home city. Fair is fair.

Nah, I think people say that out of hope but it won't happen.

They are not us from seven years ago. They have a reasonably young list, their best players (Butters, JHF, Georgadis) are elite and still young and they will most likely get access to a number of very high first round picks. Cochrane looks good and Pilot in a few years looks a freak. Add in the other father sons.

If they get a full season out of JHF and get a better overall run with injuries they will be in the mix for a top 8 spot.

I know some in here will say there bottom six is ordinary and it is but that is easily fixed as we have shown. If you start a rebuild with the top end talent already in place it can turn quickly.

We shouldn't have finished bottom 4 last year after 6 years of rebuild and had to bring in 3 players that are now in our best 18 to be top 4 so I wouldn't say it was an easily fixed.

I don't think Port Power will be bottom 4 but likely a middle team in the next few years, they will need to rebuild if both Butters and Bergman leave using the draft picks they will receive for them or attract quality players to replace them.

Not usually one to dance on a players grave when they get cut, Ryan Burton however is an exception. Suck shit you mouthy little prick.

absurd. Im just surprised Port didnt throw $3m at him as the destination club.

St Kilda have spent years and years doing their current strategy and all that's gotten them is a mediocre list with no stars

Best to pay up to build a better squad than be mediocre and irrelevant for another decade

Port's issue is that outside those top players you mentioned, their squad is rubbish.

They've got nothing to rebuild around in defense. Aliir is 31 in a few weeks and the rest are battlers.

They have holes on the wings and in the small forward and half forward roles too.

Plus the AFL is about to gut access to Academy and F/S players so Port won't have access to those players

Rekon they’ll have heaps of cap space

Willie $650k
Boak $ 600k
Finlayson $600k
Burton $600k
Rat: $450
Williams $400
Then the other 2 guys probably $200k each .

They’ve got a war chest now , who will they spend it on is the question

And the Saints have got some promosing kids too. Wilson , Taru, Travaglia, Dodson. They’ll have a good pick this year too,

You're massively overestimating what mid to bottom of list players get

Why would Amon want to time waste?
It doesn't waste any time

He wanted it out of bounds. Realised that it would look too bad if he just walked it over so gave a token handball. The umpire didn't buy it and nor should he have
