It's been pointed out that the Eagles' 22 losses in 2025 is the most ever in a season.

Geez that club is in a malaise. And historically they have been the Crows' more successful cousins. Up to 2018, they had won 4 premierships in 31 seasons, averaging a flag every 7.8 years. Now that's blown out to 4 flags in 38 years, or a flag every 9.5 years.

We have 2 in 32 complete years (1 every 16 years). If we win this year, it would be 3 in 33 years (1 every 11 years).

Interesting stats there, we’ve been going at 12 year intervals since the getting the first two. Hopefully by 2030 we’ll at least be in the finals 🤣

What can you do, take the good with the bad and keep the faith.

Good news for us with Harley re-signing. Potential bad news if Ryan wants St Kilda, send positive thoughts as the club has to deal with that campaigner Silvagni.

Jack Silvagni has somehow tricked the footy world into thinking he’s actually any good

You don't have to deal with the campaigner: your club has said Ryan is a required player, as they should.

Bulldogs had the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th highest rated players by champion data this year. According to Daniel Hoyne
Problem is their defence is ordinary & so are there bottom 4 or so players.

Listening to Chad Cornes being interviewed on radio this morning. It sounds like he wants a year off coaching and may do some media amongst other things.

It will probably be a podcast but I wonder if he will take over from Tredrea on fiveaa. They must be nervous about his bahaviour and he can't do a number of games due to his Board commitments. Tredrea is popular amongst Port fans but so is Chad so I don't think they would lose any listeners.

Statistics.....

Sometimes as reliable as Dwayne Russel's list of AA worthy players at Port this year.
Still a way to compare players, otherwise it’s just people saying x is better.

Im frustrated because its a big **** you to people who were banking on a weekend game. Which I have just been ****ed over as a thursday timeslot is ****ing terrible for international viewers.

Top 4 generally play early because if they lose, they shouldn’t get a lesser break into their semi.

Who would you guys like to see drafted at 1 and 2? Reckon Dyson Sharp would be a great 2nd banana to Reid. Would personally want to avoid Durrsma. CDT also seems like he could be a good fit, considering neither Flynn or B.Williams have nailed down the ruck spot.

I get the reasoning for it but its not good if you are trying to market the game for a wider audience which is what the AFL always try to do. But there are previous thursday night games so not like we are the only ones.

I don’t understand that, what wider audience are you referring to? Are you suggesting there shouldn’t be a Thursday night game in week 1 of finals?

It will be a packed house.
Anyone with any interest in Footy will watch this game on TV.

It will be the most hyped game of the first Finals week.

Yes! There is no chance the clubs came into the thought process around this game. Its all about ratings. The AFL wants to provide bang for buck for its TV partners. But there are thousands of expats over season desperate to watch this game and a Thurday night timeslot means its a morning game from Europe to early morning on the East Coast of the USA. So yes any night timeslot will incurr the same time difference but a weekend makes it a far better opportunity.

Hey, im in the minority, I accept it and adjusting accordingly. But all I am saying is make no mistake, the clubs have nothing to do with this time slot. Its a convenient excuse for the AFL.
