I know you aren’t supposed to take much from the match sims, but gee North Melbourne getting pumped by Melbourne to the tune of 80 points. That’s surely not going to go down well. In a year where they would be expecting significant improvement from a win/loss perspective. Melbourne also had a number of quality players rested, while North were almost at full strength.

If we had played a match sim against a Melbourne side missing Gawn, Viney, Bowey, Melksham and Petty and got destroyed by 80 points you’d be stoked on that ?? Write it off as nothing more than “just a practice game” ??

Then they’re fools. Start going hell for leather when points are on the line. That said, if you want to crack it over who looks like making the 23 or ridiculous roles, then no worries. But that too may change.

It would have to be some concern for North, a group who are used to failure dont need to be getting pumped by a fairly ordinary opposition at any stage.

The complete absence of defensive action should be a huge concern to them.

Of course I wouldn't be. But we see it year after year where the results of the first week of trials are almost completely meaningless. Second week is less meaningless.

Its hard learning how to win after being poor for so long. Everyone at North still gets paid if they win or lose, not only do they have Defence issues they would have some mental hurdles as well. When you've played 100 AFL games and only won 12, it takes it toll.
