Do you think if there was a line through the center circle that basically faced both goals. Each Ruck had to stay on each side of their line and infringed if they land outside their line so they can run and jump at the throw up but there would be minimal player contact because both players will need to land on the inside of their own line. It’s the clashing of bodies which poses the most injuries. I love the jumping, but we have to avoid injury surely

I know people that just sold around there, 800k for a very average property.
My parents run down home in Elizabeth Vale has been valued at over $800K. It’s insane!

South Australia doesn’t have the vacancy rate for venders to be picky. If it means rent or be living in an environment they are not happy with or move to Alberton. They will take the property to suit their long term plans.
Would you voluntarily buy a place next to a major football ground?

If I was renting or homeless, I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
You’re making it out as if it’s going to be some bargain basement living, it’s still going to be expensive. So given that cost it’s not a choice between renting/homeless/Alberton it’s buy elsewhere/buy Alberton. Given that last option, would you buy a place next to a major football oval?

Id rather stay renting.

Homeless people are unlikely to be able to afford to live in a development like that.

If people are happy to rent and that fits their lifestyle, they shouldn’t change their lifestyle by putting themselves into a difficult financial position. Agree with that.

But, if they are in a financial position to buy, my opinion suggests they should buy. Week after week, year after year you are building equity and in a neighbourhood with similar sized houses of price and value.

But staying financially strong should be your number 1 concern.

Yeh, it's extremely impressive. I think Koch was having a little go at us for spending $100m on a depreciating only facility?
I wasn’t aware that Alberton Oval, the Port Adelaide Bowling Club, the grandstands, the sooper dooper WORLD’S BEST ELITE training facilities etc was all on land owned by the PAFC. This will come as a shock to the Charles Sturt Council.

They can put a value on all those assets (predominantly paid for with government money) but I don’t like their chances of selling off the assets at book value. Have they updated the asset value of their memorabilia (the gazillion SANFL Cups) again?

I don’t totally understand what you mean in your suggestion. But if you’ve watched any of the trials and match sims so far, the problem exists currently because the ball isn’t being thrown high enough in the air in my opinion. As soon as the ball is thrown up, the two ruckman run in and jump at each other, and then try and tap the ball after they make contact with each other. There is zero requirement currently to time your run and jump. This should be the focus. And would allow the ruckman with the best leap and tap work to have more impact at centre bounce. At the moment it’s contact first, tap work second. Which is where the knee on knee and contact injuries will become the hot topic and discussion point when they absolutely should not be relevant.

What was he doing?
Ran then stopped just before the line.

Other ruckman was also running and couldn't stop himself crossing over the line and gave away the free.

To top it off the ball ended up like a metre on Grundy's side so he got it uncontested anyway.

Alberton Oval and surroundings are in Port Adelaide-Enfield Council.

I had a mate with 10 properties (all units if I recall) and he rented because he believes there’s no tax benefits to owning your own home. There are so many ways to skin this cat.

from what I’ve seen is the two ruckman can run directly at each other and hit each other in the jump. Now imagine them running towards each other but a line seperates them so they run either side of the line but when they jump at each other have to stay on the same side of the line they started on. Contact could still be made but they can’t technically charge at each other

I probably would, depends what’s in the precinct and immediate area. Anywhere that’s within walking distance to multiple F&B outlets has a good chance. If there’s free soda water, then I can’t think of anything else that would matter.

I doubt it, Brownlows shouldnt be based on stats.

The Brownlow has been a stat fest for years. It has consistently gone to an inside ball winner, usually one of the highest possession winners

At least now the umpires will be able to also factor in stuff they don't see right at stoppages, like score involvements

You take a bit of good news about them maybe making a good decision quite personally. Looks like a really good development and outcome to me. What is it you see that’s so wrong?

Just watching the lead up to the Suns vs Brisbane game …

A piece on JUH with Riewoldt interviewing Hardwick.

Hardwick is listing the tenuous links he has had with Jamara over the journey. A photo here, a chat there … then slips in (very quickly - as an almost insignificant side note)

AND I QUOTE

“… and my daughter actually manages him as well … “

🙄

Such a fair and open competition.

What's the issue here? Any club could have a coach with family members that are player managers
