May sound silly but possibly the cold weather setting in hits them the hardest.
Their players seem too spoilt and can't toughen through winter.

Look I dont disagree with you and give credence to your argument here, but the Dogs literally tore them apart. The game was dead after just 10 mins. Port really never stood a chance in that game on reflection.
I do agree with what you said about the favorable variables in their favour. Im sure there were a few others as well that I cannot recall of the top of my head.
For me though Port's failed attempt of winning a flag in 2020 or 2021 is best encapsulated by one moment deep in the first half, where a mark and goal and Port would have gone into HT with the lead and momentum heading into the third. I genuinely believe it would have carried them over the line and into a Grand Final, they would have had the Cats in their cross-hairs too having beaten in the finals series just a few weeks earlier.

Kochie already had his tickets booked for Perth, it was one of the biggest "they got ahead of themselves" games in history.
Correct. This isnt some old imaginary Port fairytale story, this actually did happen.
The campaigner was talking about this on Sunrise.
Booking tickets is fine, telling the country that you did, is what he set his Club up for, ie Power failure.
Most people thought port would win no?Probably a coping mechanism and to also justify why Port failed as opposed to stating that their predictions of a Port win was wrong.
The best thing is, each time they lose because they get ahead of themselves, they find another excuse and someone else to blame, then forget what caused it and repeat the same mistake again.Agreed the game was over in 10 minutes but that was because the Powah players where that full of bathwater they could hardly move.
All week it was "we're rested, full strength, home game, Bullflogs injured, travelled around OZ twice in the last month, we're off to the GF at a neutral venue".

I'm waiting for the thread to started.Stengles talent was never in question, good luck to him
Port will make finals but they blew their opportunity with their list in 2020. The Eagles will go close to the bottom 4, their list started to look cooked in the second half of the last year and Simpson looks to be going through the motions. Geelong will also play finals but, like Port, their current list has missed the premiership ship. GWS will finish top 6, maybe scrape into 4th, but a better coach will have them closer to a flag.Who are going to be the bigger frauds this year:

Sanders may find this funny, those that purchased tickets for the now cancelled Faith No More concert are still waiting for refunds.![]()
Listened to his interview on 5aa this afternoon. It’s pretty clear he’s had a falling out with the club.
I saw Faith no more just as they were exploding, I think it was 1990 at LeRox in light square. They were doing huge stadium tours in the US off the back of epic, but had a contract to play a few dive venues in Oz which they kept. Mike Patten opened the show hanging from the scaffolding off the ceiling by one arm, singing New Kids on the block: the right stuff
There is nothing epic however about about a dog who doesn’t pay his bets.
