We could have had Tom but we thought Fischer was a better defender.....
Don't you mean Sam? Tom is a ruck. And, to be fair, McAsey was a standout junior KPD being named CHB in the U18 AA in his draft year and was touted as a top 10 prospect. Obviously his and SDK's careers are panning out very differently.

What it does show again is you don’t need to use such a high pick on a key defender

Yep, reckon we are track for a top 4 pick for sure. Mutineer what’s the pointy end of draft looking like in particular mids?
Excellent especially since there's several talls that will likely be up near the pointy end to possibly open up midfield options quite a bit. Unfortunately the likely No.1 Will Ashcroft is a Brisbane F/S unless he doesn't nominate the Lions which seems unlikely given the Kangas would probably be where he'd be heading.

Nationals are less than a month away now, that's where the pecking order will become clearer.

BT asking if Corey Durdin played like this at North, not realizing he’s thinking of Sam Durdin, no one corrected him either

Imo, the umpiring standard this year has been worse than I can ever remember.

The AFL changing the rules are a major factor.

The sooner Gil the dill is out of there, the better as we need leadership who are not ruining our great game.

Spend too much time concentrating on useless shit like if a guy is moving on the mark or throwing his arms out after a free instead of just calling the basic fundamental rules.

Think we should ask Owen Wilson what he thinks of that decision

Wow GIF

I have a theory that the underlying motive behind the dissent rule is that it's an attempt to hide the poor standard of umpiring.

By getting the players to stand there and show absolutely no emotion over a free kick gives the impression that there's nothing wrong with the free kick and doesn't visibly highlight the terrible ones.

I'll give it a year or two and the broadcasters will be encouraged by the AFL to not highlight questionable free kicks.

The sad thing is that the AFL appear to think that silencing everyone about poor umpiring is easier than actually fixing the problem.
