I'm 95% sure that Ross Lyon is gaslighting the AFL community.

I suspect he is very comfortable in his commentary roles and has no interest in coaching again. BUT, he needs to stay relevant and loves the attention, so every job that comes up, he leaks his own name as being interested. He waits a little while for the media to pick it up and run with it, then he announces that he isn't interested or has withdrawn his interest.
Funnily enough there was never interest in the first place.

I'm surprised Port think Josh Carr could be a Senior Assistant and potentially take over from Ken. His record isn't that great. He was Port and as good as Freo look they are not there yet.

Even while coaching North they finished 5th. It was a great finals series where everything went right to win the flag but its not like he built a super team.

That North team were flying at the beginning of the season (Started 9-2), lost players to injury (Finishing 2-5) only for them to return come finals. (4-0)

FMD, he was no-where near the original contest where Douglas and McGovern spoiled each other (he was at least about 25 metres away and we left him on his own).

He got lucky simply because we screwed up. Nothing else.

You'd just need a couple of chips at different points in the ball to triangulate. It's possible.

Unfortunately the 12 cameras mounted on the roof don't work when most AFL stadiums don't have a roof.

No stadium being used for CL or WC have a roof covering the field either.
What they mean is over the seats. That part of the roof.

In the AFL it should be a lot easier. All you need is a couple of laser galvos making a scanning beam and then mounted in the goal posts. You need a couple of units basically marking the goal line and a couple marking the inner edge of the posts. The beams will be visible even on the cruddy cameras and that would resolve 99% of the issues, including contentious above the goal post ones. Prolly cost about $1600 bucks per oval you put them in.

$1600!! The AFL knows a guy who can do it cheaper.. They are just busy for the next 40 years...

More ambiguous decisions means more room for manipulation to the outcome they want, more fan engagement, more media stories...

The most predictable thing of the entire century was him running back onto his preferred foot to kick that goal, and the stupidest thing of the entire century was our defenders thinking it wasn’t going to happen. The guy’s left foot is fu*cking painted on.

And lets he honest, yes everything went right inc a Preliminary Final with 19 men on the ground. They should never had been in the GF.

Other than 2018 his other three years at North Adelaide were very bloody poor. Overall 2016-2019 inc finals - W 27 L 48 D 1 (35% win-loss record).

This is good for the game. Keeping Richmond, a big 4 Victorian team and their 100,000 members in the finals is much more important than a club the AFL have spent hundreds of millions of dollars propping up. It's more important than players going to Adelaide. It's more important than the integrity of the competition itself.

How can they squeeze these guys in as well. Surely their other big name players would be taking a lot of cap space. There must be a few players on below market value that could be pushed out with a better offer.
