One of the things I found interesting/odd was the person who had a go at Rankine set up a singular account to do so - it was a 1 post account

This is pretty common with bottom feeders like this. They create a troll account send the message and then delete it.

And replacing him with Lokan, who was another Glenelg coaching failure was a weird move that was done just because Lokan started with Port in the SANFL as a player.

There are some absolute grubs out there that post stuff like that to get a reaction.

The social media sites don't care - bots and burner accounts make up a large percentage of their traffic these days.

Personally think the AFL/,Players/media shouldn't promote this abuse from anonymous trolls.

The trolls are getting the attention/reaction they want with no repercussions.

One thing I think they'll always struggle with is trying to serve two masters in trying to be a "true" Magpies team in the SANFL, but one that also services the development of their AFL side.

So they have in the past recruited some very average AFL players with what seemed like the express purpose of making their SANFL side better. They've also got an issue in coaching in that they went to Gary Hocking to Chad Cornes to Matthew Lokan to Tyson Goldsack.

The list is in need of a rebuild.

Port had a sustained run of trading in talent with their draft picks and free agency. This has meant a long stint at the top with no results. Like every team before them, at some point you have to re enter the draft with high picks to rebuild your talent base. Port dont have the list and the AFL media have turned off Port from being their premiership favourites every year.

I'd be pretty bl00dy worried about that if I was them, because their AFL and particularly their SANFL are looking very ordinary considering they have a full list.

Yep. But the rule is apparently if you're off for a concussion test you're supposed to be off for at least 15 minutes.

So sounds like another instance of an team doing the wrong thing around a (potential) concussion and then the AFL not doing squat about it.

There's basically no such thing as a legal tackle/bump anymore, it's pure reactionary suspensions based on if someone got (or the tribunal randomly decided they could have been) hurt.

As bad as their season has been in the papers. They have beaten two sides considered locks for top 4 in Brisbane and Sydney. Now that may turn out not to be the case but I think their season has been written off a little prematurely

A couple of years ago if you typed “ninthmond“ instead of “Richmond” into your bigfooty comment the bigfooty system would automatically change the word ninthmond to something else as it was posted to the thread..

the bigfooty system can also recognise swear words and change/edit them out.

now I’m pretty sure if Bigfooty’s software and operating systems can do this then surely these enormous multibillion dollar social media organisations have the software and operating systems to do even more than that to recognise this vile bullshit and delete it/change it before it even gets posted..

how good would it be if Instagram/Facebook etc had a system that could read this vile shit as it’s being posted and automatically change it to “Izak Rankine.. you’re the greatest and I wish you played for the team I follow”..
