Speaking of Collingwood and last quarter horror shows, anyone remember that time in 2010-11(?) they kicked 11 goals in the last 20 minutes against us to turn a 20-odd point deficit to a 40-odd point win?

Oh god, I was at that game with a couple of mates (one Collingwood and one Crow supporter) at Telstra Dome (or was it Etihad Stadium or Colonial Stadium).

My last Pies away game was the McGovern draw... with my Dad & sister who was living in Melbourne at the time. 1st time Dad had been back to the MCG since the 1956 Olympics. Was a memorable game.

Hope he was chasing gold😁
We got there early & walked around the stadium... as there is lots of memorabilia including from the Olympics.

He would have been only a teen when he drove across the border from the SE with his relies for the Olympics.

I'd run jordan on him. Make daicos have to be accountable. Sure daicos can hurt us but if he does not defend dawson, he WILL hurt collingwood the other way and they will be vary wary of our multi pronged forward line
We need Dawson in the guts to inflict maximum damage it we are any chance to win.

Yep..right where daicos will be
He plays half back & runs forward.

We need Dawson playing in the middle at most centre bounces concentrating on inflicting maximum damage.

We are better off using someone else to minimise the impact of Daicos than our most influential player.

Just think back to carlton and cripps. Dawson went head to head and towelled him up
But Cripps started the game in the middle... which is my point.

Stupid for us to move Dawson to half forward to play on Daicos imo.

Was at that game was well with the same mates. The only game I’ve ever see us win a game in Melbourne vs Collingwood was Round 1, 2009 (Tex’s first game).

The games I’ve seen us lose in Melbourne vs Collingwood

2000 - Round 2
2002 - Preliminary Final
2008 - Round 15
2009 - Semifinal
2010 - Round 21
2011 - Round 9
2017 - Round 19 (the draw)

It has been ugly seeing us in Melbourne and am doing it again in Round 15 this year. Here’s hoping.

Wasn't there a stretch of games with North under Brad Scott where they got overrun in the last quarter? I think it was 8 or 9 in a row and it included the Kerridge/Petrenko comeback

Follow up to this, it was 2013 and it was only a handful of games

Round 2 vs Geelong - up by 9 at 3QT, lost by 4
Round 8 vs West Coast - up by 4 at 3QT, lost by 2
Round 9 vs Adelaide - up by 18 at 3QT, lost by 1
Round 16 vs Brisbane - up by 15 at 3QT, lost by 12

With that said it does seem like a Brad Scott team is more likely to be overrun, than to overrun their opposition

Games won by 15 points or less after being behind at 3QT - 8

Games lost by 15 points or less after leading at 3QT - 14

2013. They lost seven games by two goals or less, including three where they had a five goal lead (one vs us) and one they lost to Nic Nat after the siren.
