Centrals actually have the 2nd longest GF drought in the league (behind South)
I had to check. I have absolutely no memory of 2015 for Westies

Genuinely missed that somehow - ahh Bulldogs game in Melbourne then semi final against Hawks. I see why now

Cmon people, look we can all agree that its ok and even a bit edgy for other sides to chase the coat tails of the double blues at the moment as once they get a bunch of their best players back in the side, it will get pretty boring for the supporters of the other sides as they waltz to another flag:boom:
That’s a long way off 3 games into a season. Will be interesting to see who are serious contenders. I get the feel West will be the big improvers this year, Scully and Burgess will be huge with good delivery.

Tom Emmett has been offered a one-match ban for kicking Eagle Riley Knight.
Lucky to be 1.

Don’t have an issue with this but Knight deserves a week for that hit, could’ve easily ended up in a neck/back injury and was a bit late. Was one of the discipline issues I was talking about. Stupid footy.

The bloke is 31 years old.

A very good tall forward at Glenelg football club. Has played an important role in Glenelgs 2019, 2023 and 2024 flags
yep and i cant wait for him to stop kicking bags against us.

Norwood defeat Panthers by 22

Match of the round looks to be Sturt v Eagles
Well me being a South Adelaide Panthers fan, I did go to that game.

Norwood oval is a nice ground to go as a neutral.

Only problem in a Norwood oval night game is getting to the city. Game finished at 10 pm. Buses stop at Norwood every hour. So my bus rocked up at 10 30 pm.

Saturday and Sunday arvo games at Norwood, 🚐 buses are stopping at the ground at every half hour

Impressive day for the Eagles after an injury-ruined 2025. Beat us in league, reserves and U18s

Don't think that would have happened too often recently

No Tom Lewis today hurt
Yeah I remember how good Woodville west Torrens were last season.

6-3 after the first 9 games last season. Then injuries hit. Eagles only 1 one more game after round 9.

Shocked that eagles best Sturt on the weekend. Had a 3 or 4 goals lead by 3 quarter time too

South v Centrals at Noarlunga this Sunday a battle for the wooden spoon?
No..... Central's did make finals last season so I expect them to win some home games at Elizabeth. Bulldogs should of beaten the crows last week.

South Adelaide will probably win one or 2 more home games this season.

I dont understand Central. On paper, it's still a good side. That was as weak a Crows side as you could get but the fill ins played well.
Will South ever be good?
Again... Central districts will be strong at home in Elizabeth. I won't be shocked if they beat South Adelaide Panthers at Noarlunga.

Will South ever be good? Not this season. They can not lure decent mature aged players.

They do produce some semi decent kids

Shows you how even the comp has been in the last 15 years.
Since 2010, every single club barring South Adelaide and Adelaide crows SANFL team has made a grand final.

I mean from 2010 to 2019 all SANFL teams but South and crows and Port Adelaide magpies won at least 1 SANFL flag.

So 7 different SANFL clubs won at least 1 flag from 2010 to 2019

Semi decent kids?
A bit better than that, interesting to see how they go now talent manager Mark Clayton has moved on to manage Port's junior Academies.
