I find it interesting that the 'AFL' is considered to be the behemoth of sport in Australia but 45% of the teams (GC, GWS, Sydney, WB, St K, Brisbane, North, Melbourne) are all reliant on AFL funding to survive.

I don't see how it is sustainable to have 55% support the other 45%..

AFL also has Port Adelaide in their pocket, well it was mentioned last year. They were in a dire situation just 2 years ago and I wouldn't be surprised that Adelaide is getting hand outs also (my opinion)

The same arguments ensued.
As history shows she was unsuccessful.
Again the boys club harked long and hard about it being a mans game.
Whilst her background was netball there is nothing to say she didn't have something to give to football.

Perhaps certain people feel threatened that if the AFL allows people to be selected on merit and not just gender, then they may lose all those cushy jobs they currently enjoy.

Personally I am sick of having to listen to such shit broadcasting that focuses more on a security guy than the play ffs.. the sooner merit is the only factor for job both coaching and in the media, the better.

What about the crap Ralph has written about Carey in today,s HS. I am no Carey fan at all but why does he have to go back to North and try and teach Daw
to be a player he will never be. Carey is right, as good as the Daw story is he is not up to AFL level when it comes to reading the game and natural instinct.
Yes he has the athletic ability and can do the odd freakish thing here and there but his brain simply does not work at AFL spead and never will.
getting back to Carey why does he owe it to North to go back ? Yes he was a tosser who at one stage wrecked the club and has been a tosser since but who is anyone else to say he has to go back and coach blokes ?

Carey was asked by Majak Daw to help. No difference to Carey helping Carlisle.

Another telling factor in relation to this is that women have been vocal in their negativity towards the appointment of Peta.

I, too think this is a good thing. St Kilda can't afford to take on a paying coach role for tokenism therefore Peta was the right person for the role.

Hooker is yet to concede 7 goals in a game and I doubt he will any time soon. McKenzie has been good, but that hurts his chances big time.

Yep, similar to our game, Sydney's very accurate goal kicking vs very inaccurate goal kicking by their opposition makes it look like they have been more dominant than what they actually have.
