What about the crap Ralph has written about Carey in today,s HS. I am no Carey fan at all but why does he have to go back to North and try and teach Daw
to be a player he will never be. Carey is right, as good as the Daw story is he is not up to AFL level when it comes to reading the game and natural instinct.
Yes he has the athletic ability and can do the odd freakish thing here and there but his brain simply does not work at AFL spead and never will.
getting back to Carey why does he owe it to North to go back ? Yes he was a tosser who at one stage wrecked the club and has been a tosser since but who is anyone else to say he has to go back and coach blokes ?

Crameri plays best not being the #1 forward. If he stayed at Essendon (in an injury free side) he could have been playing on as a 3rd forward. Daniher would get the number 1 based on his height, if Hurley (Anyone else) was a decent forward he could get the number 2, leaving Crameri a third defender who he could either out run or just out body him. Would have been the easiest job in the world and would still a best 22 player. But he left for a side whose KPF stocks is a mess. I'll get over it one day but I still hate that he left.

He's an absolute ****wit. I hate the campaigner. Some time last year they were talking about Essendon and the ASADA investigation and he couldn't hide his hatred of the club and was basically saying players should be suspended when he should've been commentating. **** him and his ****-ugly head.

I really can't stand Terry F****** Wallace. Showing once again why he is a flog.

Assessing how good Port Adelaides drafting has been, saying "all 12" have been really good. Um, 4 of them were traded in. Then went on to say Collingwood have drafted well also and included Luke Ball who was redrafted at pick 29 (?) by the Pies. The bloke seriously has no bloody idea..

It didn't make any sense... especially when he took no time to mention the exceptional CV she has etc etc.. took no notice of excellent references from all that have worked with her at VFL level.. unfortunately I fear too many still share this kind of thinking..

The hardest part is trying to get these 'types' to understand that women/females make up 38% of all members, and estimated 40% of fans.. so a large segment of what drive the game - the consumers. Also add in the fact that girls represent around 25% of all Auskick enrolments and you could make the point that there is strong interest in the game at junior level.

We have seen lots of examples of great players making terrible coaches (spud frawley anyone, timmy watson for two) so I don't think that it is necessarily the same skill set required.

If DRJ wants to continue thinking it is a 'blokes game' then he needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Without women, AFL would die = both on and off the field.

Peta might be a lousy coach.. I really don't know.. but to suggest her appointment is a stunt and a disgrace if just disrespect and ill-informed. I hope she gets the opportunity to perform her duties on merit and if she is good enough.. then so be it.

I remember the same doom and gloom statements were made when we had the first female goal umpire.. apparently players were going to be afraid to mark the ball in case they hit her or something.. I mean seriously...

I find it interesting that the 'AFL' is considered to be the behemoth of sport in Australia but 45% of the teams (GC, GWS, Sydney, WB, St K, Brisbane, North, Melbourne) are all reliant on AFL funding to survive.

I don't see how it is sustainable to have 55% support the other 45%..
