Carlton supporters going into full melt down over Cripps not being awarded the RS.
I don't normally engage in too much meltdown lurking, but good god that is glorious. Yep, either one would be a worthy winner. How can they possibly be THAT outraged given how incredible Hogan's been?

Hopefully this is the first of disappointing outcomes for Carlton in the off season. The next one being not getting a compensation pick in the first round. Or Carlisle getting traded elsewhere for first round pick.

Of course.

West Coast fans lost their shit when Heppell won the RS.

I mean FFS the only person that voted for Shuey as the top pick was Glen Jakovich.
The best part about that particular meltdown was the insinuation of Vic bias getting Dyson over the line, despite only 3 winners in the last decade (including Hogan today) coming from Victorian clubs. Hilarious!

Sorry for the intrusion. Trying to settle an argument. The Tim Watson jumping goal, the old blokes will remember it, that was in a preseason match wasn't it?
Pretty sure it was an Escort Cup game, which were played during the season as opposed to preseason or post season.

I forgot they played that during the season proper. My mate was adamant it was a home and away match so I'll take the win. Thanks for the reply.

Hope the Tigers take the win over North on the weekend
If Richmond and the Dogs can win this weekend the world will be slightly better. I'm reasonably confident with Richmond at the G, but not so confident about the Dogs.

I'm glad you're confident mate, being a Richmond supporter I'm not confident at all, sadly. . Good luck next year.

It was the Escort Cup Grand Final. Back in the days when the night comp was a knockout played during the regular season.

There were interstate teams in that comp aswell wasn't there? I still remember the song for the sterling cup. I assume that was later.

Yep, interstate clubs as well. It was a Foxtel Cup of sorts, and the first silverware our club had won since 1965 so it was pretty well appreciated.

I only know this from videos like Tim Watson, Bomber From The Bush and the like, I didn't follow footy closely nor follow Essendon until 1983.

I mean, he wasn't a TOTALLY terrible player. I guess.....
He was a much better player prior to getting knocked out every other week. I recall very early days I thought he was going to be better than Riewoldt as he made that initial transition to AFL better. Needless to say it wasn't long before Riewoldt left him in his wake.
