Think that Carlton will do a lot of damage this year. Judd and Scotland aside I don't see how wont continue to play at the same level or improve. 3 to 5 of are still the types that could be, and under Malthouse may just end up, absolute stars.

Bit of a contrast to what you just said about Roos. Both of those coaches command respect.

The difference in the game was north's use of the ball with the wind int he 2nd - the may end up winning this after putting in a fairly putrid effort.

Isn't that exactly what everyone said they needed to improve last year? You'd think they'd be wanting to show that off from the first game practice or not.

When Melbourne does do some damage this year I don't want to hear about how much of a genius Paul Roos is. Sure, he is a great coach but he basically does common sense things and understands that they have most of the required talent at their disposal.

Ah, but making them understand and believe that is half the battle.

Yeah I suppose. I did watch the game though and they were pretty crappy.

We were tanking because if we won that we would have been in the NAB Final a week before our first game . The fact remains that their biggest area of concern was shown to have gone backwards rather than improvement. Even if it's a NAB Challenge game

Common sense at Melbourne has to be adjusted for inflation and seen as genius.

They have plenty of first rounders, now with a bit of experience under their belt.

Roos is no fool, he'd have known about that before he jumped into the role.

Good luck to them - still bottom 8 material, but the guidance from the coaches box will have them at the top end of the teams outside the 8.
