How very wrong i must be, that just because AFL.com has him in our best players every week like a total slap in the face to WCE supporters, doesn't mean he is actually a huge liability and has been a hindrance on our team for years. My bad bro my bad.

Nearly 50% more contested possessions than their next best.

Consistently wins it, consistently turns it over with pathetic disposal, consistently gives up first possession with a 5m snap kick clearance to nobody whatsoever, consistently gets zoned off by the opposition because he coughs it up with next to no pressure on him, consistently cannot spread offensively or defensively, consistently cannot chase his man, or any man because he is too slow.... And for some absurd reason, is consistently rated by whatever hamster does the best players on AFL.com each week.

Shuey on the other hand, constantly has a tagger sodomizing him each week. And still puts in a better performance then Matt.

If there is 1 thing Eagles supporters know its a good midfield, afterall we've had 2 of the best midfields of alltime in 2 separate era's. In all seriousness watch an eagles game if you rate the slow one, watch his work off the ball, watch his terrible disposal and the way he sells others into trouble. Cant deny he's a ball magnet with a hunger for the ball, thats all he has going for him.

Now that ^ Is the same cop out that the Pro Priddis fans (probably 30%) come up with on our board.

The answer is that there IS better players. Priddis plays constantly every.. single... week.. and has zero versatility so he can only play one position, is the reason why we never see them. Woosha was forced to play Ebert on the forward flank instead of in the guts because of this fact. Swift and Stevens couldn't crack it into the side for more then a game or two for the same reason. Despite dominating WAFL every week.

The exact same thing is happening to Sheed right now. Stuck in the WAFL because he cannot get the inside gig which has been Matt's and only Matt's since 2007.

Priddis has stalled the development of all our young players for years. It's not his fault, he's durable and the match committee refuse to try anything else.

It's quite frustrating for us.

But because West Coast's midfield is so abysmal he's forced to play the #1 role inside. And it's not as if you're limited to playing 1 inside midfielder a game. They're lucky it's only just me and not Smotie, E87, Champ, Prem, The Dodger or Monkey Worshipper, or this thread would be totally derailed already.

Agree with this. Unfortunately for us, he doesn't just play his inside mid role like he should. Luke Ball knows his role and plays it perfectly. You don't see him each week leading feralwood for stats, no, that's Pendles and Fat Pig. Priddis on the other hand, doesn't even play like an inside mid. He plays like he's some sort of damaging plodding player. Constantly taking stupid options rather then the safe ones...

I won't argue this any more, it's turning into another 105 page priddis thread like we have on our board.

If you're able, watch his game today and take note of just how valuable he really is.

He cant play another role. He wouldn't get a gig in those midfields.
His only strength is first hands...after that everything else is abysmal. He is slow, cant kick is terrible overhead. In our Priddis thread I posted a play against Fremantle that highlights just how much of a defensive liability he is. In fact here you go;

Watch Lachie Neale on Priddis and Rosa on Fyfe at the stoppage, and watch the play unfold from there. It happes often to him during games because as the spread starts he cant keep up with anyone so Fyfe & Neale turn it into a 2 on 1 and look who is trudging away in the background nearly getting to every contest but not quite.

We had Ebert and he was refused to play in his role because Priddis cant be moved anywhere because of his limitations. So Ebert had to learn how to be the marking half forward with bursts in the middle and was ultimately left out of our team just before he left. There were rumours that he demanded midfield time and we didn't guarantee him that so he left. Regardless of if it happened or not he immediately starting playing for Port in the midfield and is a damn sight better than Priddis at it.
