Witts is a weird one. You wouldn't expect a youngster of his size to dominate around the ground, so he gets a pass mark in that regard, but his ruckwork is baffling. For a guy of his size and (relative) athleticism, he's such a negative ruckman. At 205cm you'd hope he's the one who goes the ball and forces the other ruckman to worry about him, but instead he tends to hold and try and wrestle, which seems contrary to his strengths.

Could it have anything to do with going up against Hudson over the last couple of years at training?

Hudson only knows one way, and is probably teaching Witts that one way too. Grundy has engaged the opposition ruckman a lot more this year too rather than use his athleticism so it's not the most absurd thing I've said on this forum (of which I've said plenty)

That's not a bad point actually. Those old rucks are pretty much part time (nearly full time) coaches so they probably have a huge impact on that sort of thing, and Hudson in particular is a big proponent of that style of ruck work.

Barrett has no idea. The Crows are a decent side, but I'd back Port, North and us to beat them in a final. Would be close though.

In any case, how good would a South Australian elimination final be? I'd say it'd most likely be game of the year.

He is a peanut, going on about how good Adelaide were yesterday, does he realise how bad Collingwood are going and Adelaide still only just pulled away from them at the end, any other half decent side would have done what we did and belted them by 10 goals. I can remember him banging on about the Gold Coast mid year after they beat North I think it was and said they are certainties for the 8 and possibly top 4.
