WASTED CHANCES I know that the players were under extreme pressure, but there were times when they definitely did have their chances.

i dont buy this 4 years of hard work.
Its not hard work.
Its hard work for Uruguay - they have good teams in the ir World Cup group......we have Fiji and bloody Ivory Coast who we could thump fielding a team of blind leupers.

We do not need to work hard at all to get to this stage of the qualifiers...all we have to do is field a third string side and show up on teh day and we beat all the teams in our area. That isnt hard work. I reckon if we fielded a bigfooty team we could beat Ivory Coast and Fiji.
Then when it comes to playing a quality team with quality players we always falter, because as a team we are not up to it. The players play against quality opponents week in week out for thier clubs.....but as an australian outfit we arent used to playing quality sides. When it comes the time to play quality sides, we always choke.
We choked the last time - in what could be the worst sporting choke of all time...and we choked in melbourne last week.

only hard work we have to do is arguing with Leeds to let Viduka and Kewell play.

They might play ultra-defensive, but it was good enough. If we had to play like that to get there, i wouldn't be whinging.
