Its now or never,
Come hold me tight
Kiss me my darling,
Be mine tonight
Tomorrow will be too late,
Its now or never
My love wont wait.

Like Elvis put it, it's now or never. I'd be prepared to trade Leon for Shaun Burgoyne. If he's just gonna play well in the home and away, he might as well go and play for Summer Bay. We need him now more than ever. We need a 5 goal haul from him.

He owes the club for the faith they put in him. He needs to go and get the pill. He needs to run hard. He needs to kick goals. The pressure is on.

Come on Leon, FIRE THE **** UP!!!

Youd trade him for Burgoyne????
Hold me closer Tony Danza!

So let me get this right.

You would trade our All Australian small forward/midfielder who we have put 10 years into, and has finally developed into a consistent star, just because he has an injury and is struggling.

And you would trade him for a similar aged player, who has never had a kick in a final, who has very bad knees and has been nothing but trouble off the field for 12 months at Port Adelaide.

Ok, I just wanted to understand your reasoning.:p:p

He just needs a trade mark blinder and all will be forgotten.

Not sure what's change in the last 6 or so weeks, is he getting more attention or perhaps being played a little differently?

I think he needs to play in the centre working forward where he can snag two or three goals especially early on - it could set the scene.

Here's hoping he can have a big game.

i feel guilty for having said that about leon. i hope he has a good game this week. I didn't want to type it initially. but gee, he needs to fire up.

i remembered thinking v adelaide leon could of had a couple of goals if dids gave off at one stage and when macaffer went on that run (Leon was a leading option). I just think if we get a chance to use him we need to use him and bring him into the game.

I reckon the dropping of Medhurst will put a bomb under the players who aren't performing Davis, Cloke etc.

The true mark of a player is how well they perform in finals. So far not so good for Neon Leon. The 3 donuts on Grand Final Day 2002 will be Leon's legacy unless he can turn it on when it really matters. Time to repay the faithful Leon.

Love Leon but fully agree with your comments.

Malthouse has said before he rates players who perform on the big stage, if not their out. It doesn't appear that Leon has been judged in that way.

Don't take that the wrong way, I love Leon and much prefer him in the team than out based simply on how he can impact a game.

How did everyone rate his final against adelaide last year? I thought he was VERY decent in that game. Honestly I don't think its that he's not a finals performer anymore. I genuinely believe the bloke is injured. He has proven all year that he is a big game player and he can cope with expectation because he's been the one to step up generally when others have been out of the side.

I hope he kills it this week. Love leon but there would be a reason mick shifted him from the midfield (where he's been sensational) to the forward line (where he's been average) and not shifted him back. Convinced he's carrying something.

I've been watching him, and hes just not running hard enough. Hes been slack, and he needs to pick up the work ethic a bit. No better time than a Preliminary final at the 'G on a Saturday night.

I agree with that. He just seems to have been cruising around casually the past couple of weeks, and not really doing much hard running. Whether that's him being lazy or carrying an injury I don't know, but hopefully he can pick up the work ethic as you say.

Interesting fact - Leon Davis has never kicked 5 goals in an AFL game.

No better time for him to do it than now, eh? :D

Yep, it's time. We know what you can do Leon, you've done it all year, get into it and win this one and put all the doubters to rest. If he plays to his absolute best that goes a long way toward winning, because Leon at his best is a very, very good player.

^ I thought Dids ran very hard last week and showed signs that he was coming back into form. The only way to do that is through hard work and I thought he displayed that.

I have a feeling he will have a substantial impact on the game tomorrow night. I feel it in my waters.

unless he can switch it on over the next fortnight i would be all for trading him.. his value is obviously high and he's showing us he cant or doesnt want to perform when it's most important..

he was THE ONLY collingwood player on the field that did not have a noticable increase in intensity in the 3rd quarter last week. there was one particular incident where vince i think it was got the ball on the wing with davis about 15m behind him, vince started running and bounce it while davis was lazily jogging behnid him.. after about 8-9 steps of jogging davis decided to actually chase, at which point he closed the gap and was about 4-5 metres away when vince had kicked it inside 50 from about 60m out.

had davis started sprinting immediately as any player should, at worst case scenario it would have pushed vince a further 15 metres out to be trying to find a target under pressure from 75 out. best case scenario would have been a tackle and who knows from there...

just goes to show the difference lack of intensity can make. we had 22 players with this sort of intensity in the first half and it showed.. 21 of them turned it around in the 2nd half. If he can't lift his game tonight and we lose i say we should seriously see what is out there.. it's all well and good go be a star during home and away but if you're going to drop your head when the intensity lifts a notch then you're not what we need at collingwood.

if he's injured why keep him out there, and if he can jog and then suddenly sprint it means his injury isn't running related. If he ran hard Mick would interchange him enough so that he'd get his rests.

I remember when we played Richmond i cracked it a few times cause i noticed he was too arrogant. there was a ball he could pick up that he soccered, there was a simple chest mark he dropped (but looked laconic while going for the mark).

He thinks it will just happen for him. I reckon he's in his own head alot. Can't make any sense of it otherwise.

I don't mean to start picking out everything he does wrong, but last week he tried to do a one-handed grab/pick-up of the footy, and then somehow got beaten in the contest in the end by Ben Rutten. It's alright to go for the arsey stuff when you're in good touch, but when you're struggling for form, stick to the basics Leon.

Swap him with Didak. What I mean is, let Davis play Didak's midfield roaming role whilst Didak can spend far more time up forward.
