Interesting that Johnson is gonna be 44

Would have thought an earlier number for him

So
Johnson 44
Shoota 5
Erasmus 28

Guesses with some type of justification
Clark 6 - same number as Cats
Amiss 17 - Lowest number, Dixon recent KPF to have it
Kelm 42 - Higher number
Benning 32 - Hill indigenous connection
Brodie 24 - Lowest available left
Worner 40 - Rookie type number
5 on Schultz seems odd. Has this been confirmed?

I really like 32 on Benning.

28 & 44 are clearly placeholders for Erasmus & Johnson. They’ll probably get first dibs on 9 & 12 when Acres & Crowden eventually get delisted

Does anyone know if the playing jumpers next year might be different, I think I read an article that stated the club will be using the anchor guernseys more frequently in 2022, albeit not every week. Interesting that normally they promote the guernsey numbers with a short video or photo of the players holding the jumper or wearing it but I haven’t seen that just yet (this could change. Could this be a sign that they are waiting on revealing a fresh kit for 2022 that hopefully recognises the clubs traditional culture and embraces the past rather than shying away from it… and wearing chevrons to look more ‘professional’…. I’m not sure?

Keep in mind at the time I am writing this there has been no promotional stuff about 2022 guernseys… I think

Edit: here is the article https://amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl...ags-in-four-years-public-20211124-p59bo1.html

Apologies to keep belatedly putting out stuff from Members Meeting, but re anchors, Simon Garlick noted that these had not always been viewed externally as positive symbols (dragging us down etc.) but the club is embracing anchors effectively as strong, grounding values. More on this in the Strategic plan also.

A quick way to turn a negative symbol into a positive symbol is winning in it.
