Next is 2026 first , so based on this year that will be sub 8 , so that starts the offer with 2 firsts, 2025 1st pick 11 and 2026 first at pick 8 or less.

Saints will ask for more , but I am not giving 2027 first as that is needed for NGAs and FS in 2027.

So a further player will be needed or we just play hardball.

The complications are if the players wont go , the offers arent forth coming and if we dont get NGA status for Doug, hence we may need to keep our 26 first and therefore the whole thing falls thru.

It’s hard to weigh up.
I don’t think the draft offers as much as it used to with teams swapping picks and players each year.
Norf have been at the bottom for a while and it hasn’t done them much good.
Then you get teams like Geelong that just keep topping up each year and are always around the mark.
It’s all about how you use with what you have at your disposal.
If you give up good picks for someone like NWM you know exactly what you’re getting, a star quality player.
With picks you might get lucky but most probably end up with a Sinn or Berry at best.
Then there is also a possibility you end up with a dud like Moore.
