Jon Ralph reckons 3 firsts as bare min, reckons it going to get real ugly, were nasty bad people.

"Prepare for the most complicated, nastiest, most drawn-out trade discussion we have seen in some time."
Pretty delusional if he believes that. By that logic, Nick Daicos and Sam Darcy must be worth 5 first rounders minimum.

Doubt it, mate. Likely would be a straight swap.
Butters is an All-Australian top 4 or 5 midfielder in the comp, that has won the AFL's most courageous award two years running. He's a player you can build a midfield around.

NWM is a player who has had a few very good games recently and is starting to show that he will be a great player.

These two are not equal. To say they are, is having a huge lend of yourself.

Can someone explain how we could possibly entertain a trade for this guy if we plan to keep Butters? I can't see it happening honestly
Getting other clubs involved will be key. If Port has to trade out their 2027 1st rounder in addition to their 2026 first rounder, they will do it since draft picks from 2028 will be used to trade back into the 2027 draft and acquire points for all the NGA and FS selections.

I would be considering trading out someone like Lord or Drew etc. to acquire more drafts picks and then offload those picks to one of the clubs that needs points for their FS or Academy players.

The last club St Kilda would want to trade NWM to is the Power — so what else can they do?

As Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera’s stocks have risen, the Saints’ hopes of re-signing him have drifted in inverse proportions. Jon Ralph writes, if a trade is to happen, it will have to get nasty.

I hope this is sarcasm because if not, Jesus. I've read some delusional shit, but this is up there.

But what if Butters requests a trade to Victoria? If Nas requests a trade to SA, you are saying you wouldn't let Butters be traded knowing it may get the deal done?

If he requested a trade then that would change the equation a lot. But there have zero indications at this point that's even a remote possibility.

Butters requesting a trade would make things easier no doubt. But there has been absolutely no indication of him wanting out. So it’s all speculative.

If Butters requested a trade to the Bulldogs, nobody would be suggesting they need to give up Bontempelli, Richards or anyone else to get the deal done. Vic wank garbage.

Spot on.

Talks of 4 1sts on their board as ‘fair’. Double the packages of Judd, Danger, Cameron etc.

Not even factoring in he’s out of contract they are genuinely delusional thinking butters + a first, Bergman + 2 good firsts.

The types of offers they are saying are unders are ones you’d get for an in contract Brownlow medalist who’s proven the world at a young age, not an uncontracted player with zero accolades looking to leave.

Ones about to play finals and in a strong team going into the future. The other plays for a rabble who's lost 3 games by over 90 points this season (with probably more to come) and definitely won't be competitive next season. But sure, "dan who?" ridiculous
