From an outsider looking In we seem like we are one of the most accommodating clubs.

Once a player decides they either want to leave or come to us we generally get deals done, and one of the only ones I can think of that haven’t got done was Esava but that was because Geelong wanted more than we had to give and we eventually did a deal a year later.

And we’ve been fairly generous in what we’ve offered in trades.

There is definitely a bit of that sentiment floating around, but at the same time, blokes like your phantom mod do you no favours by setting expectations for a draft pick/player haul in exchange for NWM well above the reality of any trade that will materialise.

Not really sure how anyone can confidently say what price we will set for Nasiah.

Facts are he doesn’t get to SA unless we get satisfied via a trade. Yes he is OOC but he wouldn’t get past Westcoast/Richmond/north let alone us in the draft.

Anything else in this scenario are fantasy. Majority of stkilda supporters would applaud the club standing firm then bending over to facilitate a player leaving us and getting to where they want to go on the cheap.

The media reports including from SA journos are saying 3 GOOD FRPs.

Unless players are included it’s hard to see how that materialises.

I'm always a little pessimist when it comes to trade rumours, with all the he said she said BS. But there's just 6 weeks left in the reg season!


Don't you think NWM would have put pen to paper by now if he were staying at the Saints?

Besides he's besties with SB & JHF.
There are new coaches coming in and the lure of playing in his home state around family & friends in front of a packed house at AO instead of your average crowd of 10k to 15k at Marvel.
If we were to put a substantial $ offer on the table for NWM surely those extra work/life balance factors get the deal over the line

I honestly have no idea where he will be next year (I probably had Sainters as decent favourites a couple weeks ago, but every day that passes pushes that dial more towards Port's side of the equation), but getting to play with your mates would absolutely be a pull for any young bloke in their early 20s.

I believe he remains for 2 years.

But the point I’m making is that he lives and plays with 2 of his best mates already

It isn’t new for him.

It comes down to family and likely the knowledge that a deal is just going to be very hard to do between clubs.

SOS is not Mark Williams and this is not 2003. Saint Kilda will damage whatever brand they have if they go scorched earth on NWM. This will ultimately be where Saint Kilda fold, and take what could well be unders, but it will keep the reputation of the club in tact so as to not scare the industry including players and their player managers.
