Just a reminder, if posters come here acting like a flog please report. Don't think we are always across all threads all the time.

Vic media in total panic, those ugly SA barbarians are at the gates of a little innocent vic club. If we can pull this one off we will be villified in the vic media for years.
On the contrary the media will be slamming us for the next decade for losing our best player since Riewoldt.

They are licking their lips at the prospect.

they will be very hard on us, calling it unfair, calling us trade bullies, jabs inferring we tapped him up, it doesn't matter, it's all because we are getting rid of the poison they want us to keep

Gents, as I said. Still confident. Every massive stkilda exclusive has come via 2 ex colleagues of Ross since he returned to the saints.

Caroline Wilson -

Jay Clark -

Caro said they are confident because “Ben Williams has asked Saints to put toward a 2 year deal”.

Jay Clark said at the end “even if he requested a trade Port doesn’t have a 1st round pick”.

They both said this literally the same time it was known Bergman was staying. It’s been nearly a month now, and still nothing. Seems like that two-year deal is only a backup plan if things fall through with Port.

I wouldn't be drawing such a long bow.

There are so many reasons he could be delaying signing on. One being that clubs are increasing their offers by the week.

A recent post during the past week highlighted that money alone was important but not the major reason for shifting clubs.

At the moment, I'd rank the three vying clubs' attractions in order as:

Chance of flag success
1. Crows
2. Port
3. Saints

To be with family and friends
1. Port
2. Crows
3. Saints

Contract value
1. All around equal

Chance to play other positions
1. Port and Saints about equal
2. Crows

Club values him
1. Port and Saints about equal
2. Crows

Indigenous culture/Academy/junior carnivals/player numbers (plus chance to contribute to indigenous program along with Sean Burgoyne)
1. Port by a fair way
2. Crows and Saints about equal

Demonstrated condemnation of racism
1. Port
2. Saints
3. Crows.

I'd put Port just ahead of Saints, but we don't have the Draft collateral, so Saints may dig their heels in and he signs for 2 years more there.

50:50 I'd say at present.

I'm getting sick of seeing this. 2025 is moot. The crows will have more injuries and a harder fixture (surely) in 2026. I'd have both SA clubs on par, and really with Port's midfield weapons, Port should be the front-runner.

Agree they’re in a sweet spot now (pretty much like we were in 2023) but that’s largely on the back of no injuries and a bottom 4 draw. They’re still not good enough to win it I don’t think

Those 2 extra gimme games won’t be there next season it’s not as big a gap as it feels rn

Caroline Wilson on The Agenda Setters, quoted in Fox Sport

“St Kilda has offered Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera more than they have offered any other player at that football club in its history. They seem to think a two-year deal is the best chance of keeping him. They’ve offered him $1.4 million a year over two years,” Wilson revealed on Agenda Setters.

“The complication is his manager, Ben Williams, is telling St Kilda that Nasiah has genuinely not made up his mind. Whereas about three weeks ago the view was he had made up his mind and it was pretty much a fait accompli he would sign on for two years.

“Ben Williams comes to Melbourne on Wednesday, there’s a manager’s conference of some sort. He’s told the club he will be meeting with his player on that day and maybe more will be revealed by Thursday.

This is my expectation. He should be looking at a 1 year deal, wait till we have the capital to get him.
Port has the draft capital now.

All of that sounded good til she said more will be revealed Thursday.

That would only be true if he is staying.

She only said "maybe" not "will" and that was based on him meeting with Nas on Wednesday. Nothing may be revealed after that meeting too.

How many established young high end players ooc at this time of year actually go on to sign?

I’ll wager you could prob count on one hand
How many ask for a trade that hasn't materialised? Zero since Nick Stevens?

Do you know how many times I've heard the names Ryan O'Keefe and Tom Papley in the past month?
