So we match whatever offers he gets, and then it becomes a live trade..? is that right?

Has their been an example of that in the AFL yet?
yep exactly

not sure about this though, but we are able to match any offer apprently

The bidding for NWM is essentially a blind auction being run by Ben Williams. All Clubs are in the dark.

However, there is a belief going round that Adelaide have front loaded their proposed deal in a major way. Without giving the exact figure I was told the belief was well over 2M/year in 26 and 27.
Does that make a difference chewy

Nice analogy though it assumes highest bid wins and that doesn’t seem clear.

Doesn't mean highest bidder wins at all.
Could be a case of the player wanting to maximize the financial benefit with a certain Club. Keeping the bids blind would do that.

That is not what has been said at all - more so NWM manager is keeping all offers secret and isn't using them to drive bids up by saying XXX Team has offered this much.

For someone called the all seeing eye, you sure miss a lot.
Do you really believe that its blind, oh to be young and naive

Jeremy Cameron was a RFA which the giants matched and forced the trade for 3 firsts instead of taking the compo.

Same for Danger when he went to the Cats as the trade returned a better haul.

I still don't understand why you guys didn't hold Houston to his contract.

Port work on the philosophy of creating an environment players enjoy and want to be there.

They don’t hold players who want out to contracts as they believe it does more harm than good in the end.

As I understand it there was a verbal deal with Hinkley that he could go if we could get the right deal. Its under the pretext that he wanted to move back to Melbourne to be with his girlfriend. Its my understanding the money he is getting is a lot more at Collingwood than Port and in general he wasn't the greatest admirer of our King and Messiah Hinkers.
So I think there were a few moving parts to it.

Praise our Lord and Saviour. 20 days to go

Swans held Papley to his contract when he asked to be traded to Blues all those years ago. Considering you guys were definitely in window last year, why then trade him to Collingwood who were a main rival and would only be made better.

Sounds like Kenny going is the best thing for your mob.

Hinkers likes dissent a little less than Vladimir Putin. But he is more ruthless than Putin.
