Just while we are on Daisy, I think the nickname Daisy sucks. I far prefer either 'White Wizard' (coined on a day when Jeff Farmer played crap and Thomas tore it up), or more recently, Shadowfax (Gandolph the Gray's horse with its flowing maine whilst taking six bounces down the wing at the 'G)

Please never try to give anyone else a nickname ever again

:p

Well I think "Daisy" is a terrible name for a young man. Is it meant to suggest that his hair stands out around his head like petals on a daisy?

I quite like Shadowfax, and Dale does have that horsey quality.:thumbsu:

Daisy is used in just about every Australian country town as a nickname for any kid/bloke whose name starts with D.

It sounds a little strange when you say it, but the nickname "Daisy" is what he wouldve been called since a kid, so he is basically stuck with it.

As for O'bree, I will say it now, we can not win the flag this year, or even win a final without Shane O'bree.

Without O'bree we would be smashed in the clearances week in, week out, which is a key area especially in finals football.

I thought O'bree was good on Saturday night, while Thomas tried, but just couldnt get into the game at all.

Good weekend to regain form for players like Thomas, Medhurst and Dick this week, we will need them come finals time in top form.

Agreed Mattys,
Clearances are for mine one of the top stats in the game and one of the few indicators in our code of a teams ascendency in any given game.
So i can put up with the occasional mistake if Shane O keeps dominating in this area for our side.

I don't think I'd like the nickname daisy much either but I don't know if shadowfax would be much better - doesn't have the same ring to it and would probably get shortened to 'shads'. Plus I reckon most people wouldn't remember the horses name from lotr and we'd probably have to coninually explain it. Plus its a bit nerdy (even though I like the movies and books).

Poor boy - they might as well have called him buttercup.:o

:D I'd feel sorry for anyone who had to endure buttercup as a nickname, especially on the footy field.
