you can say it, but Moonee Valley cat racing is a totally different story to straight racing, Terravista has been terrible at both its runs at the Valley. as i said already quite happy to back it down the straight against any horse

I remember the days when everyone said Chautauqua couldn't match the straight performances around a bend.

Now they're saying that the straight will favour Terravista.

I am not saying the straight will favour Terravista, I am saying he goes like a camel at Moonee Valley and the one time he went down the straight he gave Chataqua windburn.

Edit just watched the Newmarket, Chataqua beat it then by a neck, Terravista was 1st up though. nothing between them IMO

Just watched Able Friends' win on the weekend - wow. Have seen some outstanding performances so far this spring.

backed gold-fun @10's .I was home:cry:(that pesky camera angle) serves me right for getting overs. never sad watching a champ win though. had AF second best bet as both the milers were pretty fit compared to most other attempts first up.

we probably won't get to see it, but i'd love a queen anne rematch on flat ground.

also does this $10 all in for Happy trails in the Mackinnon make sense to anyone? i know looking at the form guide Fawkner and Pornichet beat him home in the CP but he spanked them the week before and they were both close to the rail in the CP. Contributer equal there on $10? Magic Artist there at 9 which we discussed and probably wouldnt go near over secret number. Magic Hurricane could go to the Lexus which i thought would make more sense.

I've only had 1 all in bet on the monday this spring and im not really a fan but I dont understand that price.

Stiff mate, was never even in the picture til about 160m lol. Outstanding horse.

FFS - Ascot is flat - it's not like it was at Epsom. If you can't handle the furnace of a straight mile where its horse on horse with no excuses you can go home.

i wouldn't call it flat. you have to agree that some undulations can put off horses.

He had legitimate excuses, he was an absolute lather on conditions he had never raced on previously. I'm not going to argue with solow but we'd see a different result on a rematch.

Doubt it - Solow has proven in Dubai-France-UK he is the worlds best miler.

No doubt AF under performed but I'd back Solow against him all day. If you can't handle Ascot's straight mile your too week for the breed anyway.

Can't get excited about a horse beating up on a limited pool of horses endlessly - no matter how well he does it. But that's why I don't watch HK racing.

Hadn't beaten up on those I don't think though at the trip, was a fantastic win. Might not be world beaters when they travel but they can be hard as **** to roll at home... which is why I hope they press on to Ascot with Chat even if they don't win in Honkers.

Going on the OOE,neither Magic Artist or Secret Number will get in Mackinnon.
SN will probably be topweight in Lexus

I think there's enough international form to say AF is in the worlds best 14-1800m horses. Like I said I'm not going to argue the point with solow. BUT. Peniaphobia runs half length second behind sole power over 5f away from home, AF gives him 5kg over an unsuited distance and puts pay to him. Designs on Rome runs 4th to Dolnyia and Flintshire away from home on the dirt and AF was a superior horse last season.

While I get the HK fishbowl argument, AF is one out of the box. He stacks up internationally.

Chautauqua has come on since last year and he found bumps and road blocks during that race, Terravista has gone backwards.

The John O'Shea i know would never be a race dodger..

Henry Plumptre, aka the puppet master.

Sprinting needs a new kid on the block in this country (god knows we breed enough of them!), i know a lot of you guys love Chaut and rightly so but when Buffering and Terravista were still considered his biggest threats on Friday night it leaves me a bit, meh.

Honestly, stud value they are worried about? Drop in the ocean for the Shiek.. harden up and have a go soft campaigners.

You should know better by now, win a 2yr old or 3 yr old classic and go collect the 5mil a year at stud.

They have never been interested in proving they have the best horse.
