Lol- didn't even realise it had changed! Maybe people don't speak French so they don't want to visit?

Thanks for sharing, Teri.Here's a tip from Jim Boy regarding the rather annoying Facebook/Twitter buttons on every post:-
HOW TO DISABLE!!Yay!
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/facebook-share-button-on-every-post.1081159/

ah.... but the old Carly Simon song springs to mind here. How would they know how 'popular' they were if not for the 'like' button?Thanks for sharing, Teri.
When I removed Facey + Twitter, I also noticed you can disable 'likes' - would be good for those who complain about 'some' people cluttering up their alerts![]()

An all time fave!!!Huge fan. Kids into Young Ones since son was about 4.

Yeah well I dont like crowds much, so don't want to spend too much time (or money for that matter) at HP.
Two words for you ladies - Online Shopping!!!I dislike cruising around the carpark, looking for somewhere to park, so I tend to go in early to avoid the rush.
Also hate listening to the screaming kids around lunchtime/early afternoon, when they should be home in bed.
And sucks to Christmas shopping!!! I HATE! HATE! HATE! Shopping in December!!! Gotta get most of mine done by the end of Nov.
Two words for you ladies - Online Shopping!!!
Do it!!!
Yep- me, too. Putting people out of business...Two words: n o.
Not for clothes anyway. I need to feel the fabric, try stuff on, I really dislike online shopping tbh.

Hmmm- apart from books- it's OK to get them online![]()

"I often get caught struggling across the road with litres of milk and other heavy stuff." -That's a good tip- i.e. the local streets, Shell. My son lives near a big shopping centre near me, so I can park at his place when it's busy but have to be careful not to buy kgs and kgs of suppliesI often get caught struggling across the road with litres of milk and other heavy stuff. It's come in handy for those quick visits or just to go and have coffee with my son.
At the shops that I used to go to for their BIG stores, all the employees have to park across the road at the high school in December. I reckon that's great- there's nothing worse than getting to the shops pretty early, only to find that the employees have hogged all the carparks within a km.Especially when it's raining and you have little kids. Times have changed, though, and the carparks all have those dumb "mothers with prams" signs. I call them "dumb" 'cos I'm jealous they didn't have them when I needed them.
I had to take my kids out with me everywhere because hubby worked away and I had no choice. Mostly, though, I went in early, picked up things quickly, then got out before the crowds came and before the baby/toddler needed to be in bed. The most difficult time was when I had one child sleeping at 10 and 2, and a second child needing a 12 noon nap, plus school kids needing to be dropped off at 8.30 and picked up at 3....
Christmas shopping was hard when I had kids that were 2-4 years old and not at school. I would distract them and hide stuff under bags in my trolley, then ask the checkout lady if we could sneak it through without the child noticing. I'd be 'Oh, can you go and grab me one of those bags from that checkout?' or 'can you hold this and wait over there for a minute?' If the kids saw me buying presents, you could bet the intended recipient would find out as soon as they got home from school.
One of the sneakiest things I did was to point out a merry-go-round in the gift shop to the shop assistant, paying for it at the counter, then walking out while she wrapped it. I went back and picked it up after she'd finished.People enjoy being part of pulling the wool over kids' eyes, don't they?
If you buy online, you can use specific measurements from the tables they include. The only problem is that, if you don't like it or if it doesn't fit, it's a pain in the butt to return. (I hate going to the post office, too- especially at this time of year. Dammit! Just remembered it's Christmas card-writing time! Already??!!!)At a shop where I shop at all the time, am a size 10 in pretty everything I buy from there.
One time I buy online off them, a size 10 dress and the ****ing thing doesnt fit.
So yeah, that's a no to online.
I only buy ASICS Kayano's online, where the size will always be the same, ie. US 7.5
But if I shop online, I won't get to hang out at the shops with my kids- just zipping up to get groceries is a great way of meeting up with one or the other. Or bringing home a takeaway coffee for later."I often get caught struggling across the road with litres of milk and other heavy stuff." -

This is the real way to let your fingers do the walking!!!

That's where we differ! It's easier for me to return shopping at the post office, because I just despise shopping centres. Here at Copa, you always get a park out the front of the PO, same at BH!If you buy online, you can use specific measurements from the tables they include. It's such a shame that Aussie stuff is so much more expensive than what you can buy online.
I hope you're buying AUSTRALIAN, Kitty!??That's where we differ! It's easier for me to return shopping at the post office, because I just despise shopping centres. Here at Copa, you always get a park out the front of the PO, same at BH!
Now I buy EVERYTHING online + I've only returned one pair of shoes, but they were wrongly marked, so I didn't have to pay for the postage!

Huh? Why do you need to go to the shops to hang out with your kids? Can't you meet them at a cafe? I don't know Perth, but I'd much prefer to meet at a cafe.But if I shop online, I won't get to hang out at the shops with my kids- just zipping up to get groceries is a great way of meeting up with one or the other. When they were young, I had dairy, juice and bread delivered by a local bloke who did the Browne's delivery a couple of times per week. I think I used the delivery for about 3 years till we moved house.
When I get too old to carry groceries, I'll shop online![]()
ah- but we can walk around and browse, buy bits and pieces if the mood takes us, then sit and have a coffee afterward.Huh? Why do you need to go to the shops to hang out with your kids? Can't you meet them at a cafe? I don't know Perth, but I'd much prefer to meet at a cafe.
but, when we do shop, we're normally there before the noise (< 9am).Nope!I hope you're buying AUSTRALIAN, Kitty!??![]()

You are right, Kitty- and I was stirring you but I think you need to have a mix of stuff. I would hate for everyone to buy online and for all of our shops to disappear - though I think there are FAR too many big shopping centres. Out here, you only need to drive 5-10 minutes in any direction and there's a huge complex taking up loads of land. Everything only 1 storey high, carparks too small (no multilevel car parks)... what a waste! And they whinge about urban sprawl.Nope!
I don't believe in that crap Teri
If we don't buy from overseas, then why should they buy our minerals, wheat, wool etc?
My philosophy is I buy according to who makes the best quality for a medium price + it goes like this
Cars = Germany
Shoes, bags = Italy
Swimwear = Australia
Sheets + towels = US
Cheese = France + Italy
Alcohol = varies according to the type - beer = Coopers, SA, Bubbles = France + Grant Burge, SA+++
Tea = Ceylon
Coffee = Fair Trade - South America
Costume Jewellery = USA
Clothes = depends what it is
Make-up = USA
I just bought a sofa online + saved $2,000 + free shipping from USA. The fabric is fabulous, such great quality.
The only DVD's I've ever bought are Geelong Cats 07, 09 + 11 DVD's lolI've bought quite a few CDs in a set of 5 over the past year or two. They cost about $20- and you get individual CDs in little cardboard slipcases, inside a larger cardboard case, so not a fancy boxed set but the el cheapo version. My iTunes doesn't seem to mind that they're the cheap version
The ones I have are Columbia and are called "Original Album Classics". There are loads of artists in the series.
e.g. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/music/browse/pop/original-album-classics-5cd/302264/
Same here. But they are a bit before your time.
There are loads of other Geelong DVDs- e.g. from shows presented on Foxtel. You probably need to add "Decade of Domination" to your collection. Plus "Inner Sanctum" and maybe even see if you can find one called "Son of a Gun" and one called "Down at Kardinia Park" (I don't have the latter but do have the others).The only DVD's I've ever bought are Geelong Cats 07, 09 + 11 DVD's lol
My brother, on the other hand, has literally tonnes + tonnes of them!
I didn't take too many as the light wasn't that good but I'll post some more when I get home.More pix please Bots?
