Like the sound of Hogan.
Hoping to see the Wines and Vines show next year.:thumbsu:
Getting them both has the added potential benefit of instilling a bit more of a competitive and oneupmanship attitude in some of our other players too. According to that Emma Quayle article, at least.

I'm sorry I used the word 'potential'.

Rob Waters is the twit that reads the channel 10 sports reports.. he reads news, not creates it!!

Tell him to shut the twitter account and look into meteorology!!!

Oh. So nobody that matters in the scheme of things regarding this.

Well I'll refrain from throwing a tantrum until we do stuff up ours plethora of high picks....again.

If we don't get hogan there are plenty of talented kids we can take in the draft. Let's not be silly here.

Im hoping we are not throwing this draft away with rash decisions, cause we are in the box seat this year to do some pretty amazing list improvements.

Rob Waters could have some mail, but after the club has been touted as having a history of struggling to pick young talls, then this would be a monumental 'hit n miss' if they use those 2 picks for Hogan.

There has been some utter cr*p reported about us on every front this year, so we will have to see how it all plays out!

If there were any truth to that rumour, GC would've given up less to secure MD pick #1. Honestly, these journalists are getting the names and associated clubs right, but some of the draft picks they're mentioning are ridiculous.

I assume that GWS will take our pick 3 for Hogan, and upgrade one of OUR picks, not the other way around. I mean, if you think it sounds ridiculous, that's probably because it is ridiculous.

Why do we need offer GWS an extra pick for MD? Pick 3 - take it or leave it, assholes. ;)

Exactly. If they don't want to play ball they can G&GF.

If GWS do indeed throw in pick 20 in exchange for Hogan I'm all for seeing if we can pick Nathan Hrovat.

There's a fair bit of romanticism involved I must admit - a few of my friends from school went to the same school as Hrovat in primary school (Hrovat's up at Mill Park which isn't too far away from where I'm at) and they think he is a good lad too. Having said that I think he'll be picked up a little earlier.

I think if Hogan is a lock-in, then Dawes becomes even more important for us..

We will need someone to fill a 3-4 year spot of being another focal point, while Hogan learns AFL level footy and Watts body mature enough to dominate his spot!

Everyone is saying Dawes is hopeless, but he will have a role to help Clark out, and teach these young guys about work-rate and being a successful competitor. Melbourne have gone hard at Dawes, cause i think they have been targeting Hogan for a while.

Is a great kid - went to my school (a couple of years below but I played some sport with him), works very hard.

I agree. I think he's a good player but had a poor year, I still wouldn't pay more than a pick in the mid 30's for him though. He could play deep forward while Clark and Hogan use their endurance and athleticism to rotate further up the ground providing us with marking targets in the middle of the ground. Also Pedersen could be a handy pick because he can play ruck, forward and back.

I'd be fine with Hogan, Dawes and Pedersen all coming through at once. They each provide something different, and we are badly lacking in the KP department.

Maybe bulldogs are trying to get that final md pick (they sure need a fwd, even more than us?). Possibly offered 5 or 6 plus 21 pick?

I'd rather Hogan, and one or the other with Dawes and Pedersen. We've got to remember our midfield is our no.1 problem. Dawes or Pedersen in the forwardline with plenty of midfield support works for me. We also have Fitzy and hopefully a fit Gawn looking for opportunities next year so we're OK for talls - much more so than mids

I'd be so happy if they did, but their recruiting manager was speaking in very excitable terms about the draft and the picks they have in their arsenal.

But Pedersen would play backup ruck, and defence... so he won't necessarily go forward. We won't be giving up high picks for either Dawes or Pedersen, so I think we'll still have 4 and 14 to bring in talented midfielders through the draft. Plus Shannon Byrnes can play through the midfield and Farren Ray is looking like he could come in for a pick in the 40s or 50s perhaps. Rory Taggert hasn't even debuted yet but shows promise as a mid. I'm not sold on either Fitz or Gawn for differernt reasons.

Sellar is more than adept at playing the defensive ruck role, there is no place for Pedersen in our backline even without Sellar, who will only play when a gorilla is in the oppo side.
