It'd kick arse if Arcade Fire did BDO!

I asked before, no-one answered...when is the first announcement? Is there a date set or is it just the usual 'soon'?

After waiting 11 years for the return of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to Australia, tickets to both the SYDNEY ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE on TUESDAY JANUARY 22 and MELBOURNE’s FESTIVAL HALL on WEDNESDAY JANUARY 30 have SOLD OUT in RECORD TIME this morning.


In light of this unprecedented sell out, Lees and West would like to announce that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE will also appear at the BIG DAY OUT 2008 summer series kicking off in Auckland on January 18 followed by shows on the Gold Coast, in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.


Tickets to the BIG DAY OUT 08 on sale as follows -


FRIDAY JANUARY 18th AUCKLAND MT SMART STADIUM

Tickets on sale: FRIDAY 12th OCTOBER

SUNDAY JANUARY 20th GOLD COAST PARKLANDS

Tickets on sale: THURSDAY 11th OCTOBER

FRIDAY JANUARY 25th SYDNEY SHOWGROUND

Tickets on sale: WEDNESDAY 10th OCTOBER

MONDAY JANUARY 28th MELBOURNE FLEMINGTON RACECOURSE

Tickets on sale: FRIDAY 12th OCTOBER

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 1st ADELAIDE SHOWGROUND

Tickets on sale: FRIDAY 12th OCTOBER

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 3rd PERTH CLAREMONT SHOWGROUND

Tickets on sale: FRIDAY 12th OCTOBER

interesting to see the melbourne show is going to be at flemington... how will the show be there? i doubt it will top princes park, but should be better than the showgrounds...

yeah, i know... but i preferred it when it was held at princes park... no bottlenecks, green and essential stages side by side, very quick to get from one stage to the next... i believe now the renovations of the showgrounds are complete they could've gone back there, but they've chosen not to...

Renovations made it impossible to go back to the Showgrounds. No spaces large enough for main stages anymore. Poor planning by the Vic Govt. Lees and West were a tad peed off when the Big Day Out wasn't taken into account with the renos...

I'm aware of that. I live a stone's throw away...

When I heard it was at Flemington though, I assumed it meant the suburb and thus the Showgrounds. I guess not.
 
did anyone else read in the paper today that Bjork would be co-headlining with RATM?
if thats the major acts then im really not all that impressed.
hopefully someone better comes out in the official announcement.
