Poor guy. It's a basic rule of business dress for men.

If you want to be taken seriously do not wear cartoon ties. :D

I think the whole thing boils down to Rucci being willing to do anything to attract attention. I've always noticed that it's the dullards in offices that wear those ties. Colourful cartoon ties=Zero personality. Such a Rucci moment.

Not so. Since The Advertiser had its makeover, with lots of red ink, larger point size, increased leading, less analysis and more graphics, MR has been wearing Dr Seuss ties as his little protest against management.
In any case, what he wears is none of our business.

I think the jokes on him, as I'm sure Rupert is caving under pressure from the great Rucci. If he left tomorrow, how hard would it be to replace him with a copywriter from Austereo or a cadet journo. All they'd have to do is be ignorant to the truth and try and find a nerve with each article. Not that hard really.

Re: Fashion Advice for Rooch

Better get on West Coast for the flag. Seeing Rucci in that made me think I'd travelled back in time to 1992, before wearing novelty ties were considered a crime. :D

stiffy_18, what happened to every thread about rucci being boring? This is an exception i guess.....
Of course this is an exception jack. Usually threads about Rucci are linked to his journalistic ability (or lack there of) BUT this is a genuine attempt to give him some sound fashion adivce since he reads this board.

I just thought, I would offer him some adivce in this area since he clearly needs it

*snip*

Stick togetehr like flies you journos.

He is a public figure and this week for whatever reason has had more media exposure than most of the Crows team. He needs to put a sock in it.

So, who are you? His .... buddy?
If he's so indignant about management, why doesn't he quit? He could go to the Adelaide Review. Fit in perfectly with all the other w.nkers down there.

And what do you brave courageous BF posters do?
And your point is ......?
Fact is, MR would get eaten alive if he worked in Melbourne. His ill-researched, ill-informed cr.p just wouldn't wash over there.
I think he's rather happy being a big fish in a very, very small pond. He loves the attention - and loves drawing attention to himself.

And Big Footy posters are different sort of people, are they?
Except they do it hiding behind nicknames.

Re: Fashion Advice for Rooch

He was just on Perth radio, his support for Port was mentioned on many occasions. How can you have an openly biased journalist heading dept of a newspaper?

Last time I checked, I didn't think too many BF posters were being paid for their comments, unlike Rucci.
And if you've got such a problem with nicknames, why don't you be a trendsetter and reveal your true identity?

;) ;)

My apologies. I went back through the threads and see you've happily admitted your identity. Congrats ... I think.
The rest stands.

Yes, that's why the majority of regular posters here have at one time or another submitted their photographs to the BF profile site.

That's why at the time of the most controversial issue that I've seen during my time here - the Craig appointment process - most wrote to Trigg personally in protest.

At the time Macca23 and Rainmage/Cove Cobra regularly rang 5AA to put our views across to KG and Cornesy when we were being decried as just 'morons on the internet'.

How is that "hiding"?

I also find it interesting and perhaps a touch hypocritical (if I may be so bold) that both you and your fellow journalists certainly don't have a problem with this forum and its users when we're posting opinions that find their way into your papers and magazines though, do you?

Rucci is a first rate sports journo who calls it as he sees it. We're fortunate to have him in this town

DT, I have never had a problem with this forum... and I have done a far bit to promote it. I just get sick of the constant slagging of journalists as a profession.

My point is that like it, or not, the people who post here are journalists in the new media. But the standards demanded of MR – honesty, truth, fairness and now dress sense – are not always demanded of the contributors to this publication.

But, listen, I am a poster and magazine contributor. Happy in both worlds except when the slagging comes up.
I mean, my last post was explaining why MR wears those ties. Then I get slagged for sticking up for him. Dear me.
