For a 21 year old who is captaining his state it's fairly ********ing handy you ****************.

I suppose you thought he batted ******** today.
UH yeah its not bad, but its not Australian material, let alone Australian Captain material ;)

No i thought he batted well, very well indeed. His bowling wasnt up to scratch though.

Good observations. I think the reason he hasn't made more runs is because he has tended to bat too low in the order. Happy to see him now batting ahead of Harvey and I think the runs will be more consistent next season. Needs to move himself to number 5 because he will always be be more of a batting all-rounder.

Elliott
Arnberger
Hodge
Moss
Hussey

Who would you move?

Re: Cameron White

He will play for Aus in tests, bat at 6/7. Bowl about 10 overs an innings i.e. a Lehman/Katich type player but a more regular bowler. One dayers he could slot about 5/6 and make a few runs. His bowling is not up to scratch to bowl 10 overs in a one dayer, so thats why you play him as a batsman. His batting must be up to Test standard or else no one from the Aus A side today will play for Aus ever. He showed he is a better batsman than all the others bar David 'Junior yet Superior' Hussey

His stats are steadily rising as he has just found his feet in the order, been to low to get a great average. His wrongun is great.

Uhhh, there is another game, i think M.Hussey and M.North will be the stars ;)

And white will get out first ball, and will be smashed for 48 in his 6 overs. :p

Re: Cameron White

Nah north is aight, leave the kid alone. As for mick hussey, he's not up to international standard. But against the Windies' weak attack, you never know he could be a chance to do well.

I'm certainly coming around to that sort of approach myself, play him as a batsman who can bowl here or there as a bonus. Certainly went up in my estimation today.

at 21 yrs old you should be averaging more than 27 as a batsman.

Probably Hussey to 4 and White to 5 with Moss and Harvey coming in at 6 and 7

Apparently he isn't a walker.
So in other words he is a clever cricketer not trying to overshadow the umpires and doing their job for them? Wouldn't be too much to ask for you to eat some humble pie, Jaymin. Face it, you were WRONG!!!

Re: Cameron White

This brings up the question if Clarke is unfit could White slip straight into the team?

Both are in terrific form. The reason i think White is ahead of him is for his bowling ability.

Re: Cameron White

Gotta be M.Hussey

Mate I am a South African Supporter through and through....

But I do like the Australian Cricket Team...

Re: Cameron White

i think white has proved himself capable of holding his own...
good lower order handy batsman , excellent in the field and can bowl ok aswell..thought he could ( should ) have had a cap ahead of hauritz in india and should be next in line... D.Hussey also putting his hand up but i think white has performed better so far this year...

Re: Cameron White

I don't watch heaps of Vic games, but watched him a bit this weekend. Surprised by his 1st class batting stats to be honest. Looks to have a far better techniqe that his numbers would suggest. Improvises very well, opens up over and through cover well, excellent runner, calls well and controls and innings well when needed. Excellent signs when a kid can bat well under scoreboard pressure.

Not a huge fan of his bowling. Too quick through the air. More a containing one day type than a wicket taking test type ATM IMO, but again a 21 year old leggie is gonna take a while before making the grade. Catches bloody well.

At 21, with big scope for improvement in his bowling and a genuinely good batting base to work on, who captains his state and has magic hands is going to go places.

At least I can always say I was a better player as a kid....................... :(
