Official Footy Tipping Thread

Ladies and gentleman round 1 is upon us once again and its time to get out tips in for round 1. I'll do my usual match thread with a possible team and match-ups sometime thia week. Maybe even tonight. God this feels good

My early tips are (might change them one I know the sides on thursday night). Round 1 is always difficult to pick

Round 1

COLLINGWOOD to beat Richmond
MELBOURNE to beat Hawthorn (Really struggling with this one but Hawks have too many talls out with injury. Dees JUST)
FREMANTLE to beat Carlton (Subi factor, talent, everything points to Freo win)
ST. KILDA to beat Geelong (I think this one could go either way. A lot will depend on how Saints cope with off-field problem. Going purely on talent)
BRISBANE to beat Sydney (Really a tough one to pick. Sydney have had Brisbane's measure last year but I don't think they will be as good this time around. Lions have a few injuries and suspensions to deal with. Going purely on the GABBA factor)
PORT ADELAIDE to beat Essendon (No Wellman, Fletcher and a couple of other. I can't see who would possibly play on Tredrea. Port easily, although Essendon will be good this year)
ADELAIDE to beat Kangaroos (This one could go either way. Going purely on the fact that we can't afford a slow start to the season)
WEST COAST to beat Western Bulldogs (I am not sure on this one but I think Eagles have more class in the midfield than Doggies. However, Eagles aren't great on the road so this one could go either way. Eagles JUST)


PS. Mods can we have this thread as sticky as it will be used throughout the year?????

At this stage, my early tips are the same as Stiffy's.

The uncertain picks at this stage are:

MELBOURNE to beat Hawthorn - set more in jelly than concrete at this stage. No idea really.

WEST COAST to beat Western Bulldogs - while I think the Bullies will finish bottom or close to that mark, West Coast don't travel all that well.

Yeah those 2 games are the most uncertain ones of the lot. Either of those sides can get up and win.
