seem as though there is quite a few threads about players popping up on our boards, i thought we should merge them all into one! so far players we have suggested in trades are:

Ottens
Cooney
Waters
Pavlich

perhaps we should bandy some more names of former south aussies around too... :p

how about:

Pike
O'Loughlin
Tredrea
McRae
Nicks

Pike - bit old for our rebuilding process
O'Loughlin - see Pike
Tredrea - 0.000001% chance of leaving Port
McRae - announced his retirement
Nicks - see Pike

Should be aiming for younger players not older ones.

I stated this is another thread but seeing RooDog got this one happening I'll state it hear again.
Cooney would fit into our side beautifully right at the minute and he is very disgruntled at the doggies so he could be worth a show.
I dont think we have anything the doggies would want so doing a trade this year might not feasible but he is out of contract next year and from what I have heard I wouldnt of thought he will be signing up next year so maybe we could get him a little cheaper so to speak next year if he wants to come home.

i wonder what they would required to get him next year ?? we would need to have a fairly good pick/player for cooney.

I also think young players are the key - i dont see any point in using our picks to recruit older players - in the end we need to rebuild so it is probably better sooner rather than later ( i want to be young enough to enjoy our next flag )

It would have to be something very appealing because there is no way a team would trade away their number 1 pick for anything less.
However if he is out of contract and wants to come home that only leaves us and Port so that makes things alot easier, its a bit early to tell what he would be worth in a year but Im just saying that there is an opportunity there and I will be very interested to see how Coons go next year.

On the money RBG. It would be nice though wouldn't it?

(Dreaming: Cooney, Johncock, Waters and Reilly - new era?);)

Idea:
Cooney to Crows for pick 1
Stinger and Perrie to Weagles for Waters and pick 2 or 3.
My soul for Pav.

Umm . . . . . . .

Please go and study what you wish to say??

You are new so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Pick 1 for us equates to no. 8 in the draft. That just will not happen.

Pick no. 2 (ATM) is, I believe is at 24? and pick 3 you can never judge because they are almost always used in 'fringe trades'.

Pavlich worries me. He is 22 and his shoulders are in REALLY bad shape.
IMHO I think we might have come out a little better in selecting Kenny before Matthew. Ken McGregor continues to improve whereas Pavlich seems to have stagnated.

I like the way snrub thinks.

I'm hoping we can draft Heuskes with a late pick to add some steel and discipline to our backline.

saw cooney in town saturday night, old skool mate he is, hes happy at the bulldogs, sorry fellas
I wonder if the same could have been said a month or so ago, as he really appeared to blossom late in the season.

We should be looking at the younger south aussies at Melbourne and Richmond, not these scrubbers ...
