First and I think the only trade Adelaide will do

Tyson Stenglein ---> West Coast
Pick 12 ---> Melbourne
Scott Thompson and 2nd round* draft pick ---> Adelaide

* subject to further trades and will be no lower than pick 28. If West Coast aquire earlier 2nd round pick through other trades then we will get that pick.

Kane I reckon you can lock this thread now because I don't think we will be doing any more trades :(

Once again AFC show a lack of balls:(

Naah leave it open so some of us can nitty-gritty info on this and other trades that might happen.

I understand reading forum threads isn't the clearest way to make sense of this and looking at posts on other boards by Eagles/Dees/Crows supporters, there are some in all camps bemoaning this.

Tell me what Thompson can bring to our footy club; whether we have to do a 'Clockwork Orange' type process to get him to get his anti-Adelaide Football Club thoughts out of him or what (that's all I know about him, sadly);about that, are there any stories on him on the web; and I s'pose while you're at it tell me the boring stuff like his vital statistics. Post it all here or PM me if you want.

Another thing - I typed in bigfooty.com/forum and found to look at the forums list I had to log in. Why's that?

Leigh, just a bit of the 'boring' stuff for you. ;)

Only played 12 games this year because he broke his foot but averaged more kicks, more marks, more tackles, more hit-outs, more goals and more frees against than Stinger. Stinger averaged more handballs, more frees for and more behinds. Wish I could get stats for the really important stuff though like clearances, inside 50's, rebounds etc. Still, stacks up pretty well considering we got a 2nd round as well.

2004 Average Stats

Clearances - Stinger 3.7, Thommo 3.3
Inside 50's - Stinger 2.1, Thommo 4.3
Rebounds - Stinger 0.8, Thommo 0.3
Clangers - Stinger 1.9, Thommo 2.3
Brownlow Votes - 3 apiece

They match up pretty well with Stinger's stats. All in all a good trade considering he is 3 years younger and we got a second rounder aswell.
Where did you get those stats from? Any chance of getting the time on ground stat as well?

Nope, no match time stats, I'm afraid.

I've got an Access database with all Official AFL stats from 1997 onwards. Basically, I've got all the normal stats you see everrywhere + clangers, inside 50's, rebounds and clearances. I've downloaded them over the years from http://cromulent.freehosting.net/afl/afl_index.html

And, yes, I am a dork. :D

Bt of an anti climax really in regards yo our trading period, not sure why as this seemed to always be the case.
I was disapointed we were not able to do seperate trades with Stinger and Thompson but overall I'm happy that a deal was done.
Stoked to of kept our picks but i would loved to of got another second round pick or something.
All in all I think we have broken even, I think the big winners of trade week have been Hawthorn with 3 out of the top 7 picks and Richmond now have 5 picks in the top 20, lets hope they are duds :p
