Tambling's first half tonight was nothing short of a disgrace. Half hearted efforts to mark two kick-ins, one handed "tackles", a shocking kicking turnover under no pressure and a total lack of desperation.

How much of a rev does this guy need?

A disgrace!

Ps I couldn't hear the commentators due to background noise. anyone else?

I agree Sausage...
At the game, his first half was awful.....sackable.
His 2nd half was only better thanks to those around him lifting.
Hope he's not a down hill skier.

His game was average.
Compare Bling's first half to Kingy's.
Kingy plays well whatever the state of the game.

Bling has to become more than a 'confidence' player.

agree with sausage's OP, Tambling was ordinary first half but shit we looked nervous....the whole side. Second half was a different story. Blinga just needs absolute confidence in himself and he will really start to have an impact:thumbsu:

how many possessions did get? go watch the replay and tell me how much ball he won!

Go watch the replay yourself and watch the 3 or 4 clearances he got where he ducked and weaved in a tight space and got out a clever handball.

You just dont notice because he didnt do the bursting from the pack ala Judd.

He and Kingy were the reason for our turn around in the 2nd half. They lifted and the team lifted around them. He didnt maintain it but hopefully that will come with confidence.

Poor first half. Better second half. Was embarrassing in the first two quarters with half assed efforts to chase, errant disposal etc. and then in the second half he was better with some good run, smothers and he put his head over the ball. In all, his game was average. Interesting to see how his season pans out as this is the year when he needs to make his mark on the competition.

But Bling does go into packs, props, stops and then give it off to someone 4 feet away in as much trouble as himself.......he certainly doesn't clear it.
His great effort at getting the ball is spoilt by not clearing it further.
He has no distant vision from within packs.
Some players can get it out wide from traffic, like Foley.
Bling has to break the pack or he's history.

But he has stopped, stopping the flow of play if he's linking and the play is flowing, though one game doesn't make a season.

This season should tell his progression.

I don't know what game some of you were watching. Ordinary first half, but was great in the second. Made some huge plays and was one of the key players in our fight back.

:thumbsu:sure did, what game was every1 else watching?
he was puting pressure on the opposition unlike anyone else, didnt stop running

good game bling:thumbsu:

very good second half, was scene in the first half. 13 touches and goal, which was pretty much his 07 average. Need more consistancy from him because his glimpses can show alot

And watch the times when he forgets to use his pace when he needs to DEFENSIVELY spoil a mark against a player his own size....watch how he gears down and doesn't meet the contest unless it suits him.
Watch the times he ran with his back to the ball and play. (Also a Richmond trait)

Don't pump his tyres up too much....eventually he would finally meet a smother, and he only showed anything on the coat-tails of others who lifted.

And that first half was truly atrocious.....if others hadn't of lifted and he enjoyed the ride tonight, and he had a second half like the first, it would have been the worst game EVER played by an AFL Footballer.

I had mates who wanted him off for good after that first half, and I agreed.

Kicking a set goal doesn't forgive that first half.
There is a huge gap between his passable football he rarely dishes up and that sub-standard crap he serves up normally.

You all want him to succeed so badly, (see Astro_Boy & Terry Wallace) that you say he was better on the night than he actually was.

Come off it, Bling the reason for our comeback?......lol

Brilliant? And I am being accused of being a poor judge!

Yes his second half was better but it was coming off a very low base.

guys who tackle a lot(please note;two words!!!!) don't have the ball!

Need I remind you what number pick he went.

Look at the tape of the first half before you call him brilliant!

Hoofs, lips and eyelids entree followed by fillet of Sausage Foal anyone?

Coming off a 'very low base' indeed. :thumbsd:

You bloody piece of solid faeces

Get off your cottage cheese arse and go follow the Tigers instead of bagging em in your lounge room.

Tambling showed great improvement in the 2nd half.

You've confused Tambling with Pettifer.

i too believe his second was really good, but going back to the original post, what does it take for this bloke need to get going. he out of sorts in the first half, slow and second to the ball. i too believe bling plays better when the sting has gone out ofthe game. lets hope he continues hi second haf into the first half next week against the kangas.

In the two age articles Richard Tambling was mentioned in both firstly by Wallace and his improvement secondly by the age reporter mentioning Kingy's and Tambos endeavour personifying Richmond. The age listed him having 2 critical errors same as the great Judd less then the majority of other players and getting 5 tackles also that smother. Those "half hearted" efforts in marking if you were listening to the commentary as I did this morning I think they mentioned how he did well in those situations cause he was outflanked by 2 taller oppnonents.

So all this talk about how "lazy" he is or how he doesn't try is a load of crap the starting the tread at half time personifys attitudes towards Tambling always judging him before he gets a chance to prove himself. At least wait to the end of the game and if his played poor then pass comment.

I will partially agree with that. There was one time i think when murphy centered the ball and Richie didnt run back hard enough to make the spoil. But later in the game he ran backwards straight into Richo and his oncoming opponent.

Don't pump his tyres up too much....eventually he would finally meet a smother, and he only showed anything on the coat-tails of others who lifted.

He chased hard last night and the smother was excellent. Watch the start of the 3rd quarter and you will notice that Richie and Kingy really lifted and got some important touches and crucial 1%ers. I have no doubt he was a big part in us turning around.

And that first half was truly atrocious.....if others hadn't of lifted and he enjoyed the ride tonight, and he had a second half like the first, it would have been the worst game EVER played by an AFL Footballer.

Massive overstatment. He had a poor first half. Can only really remember him doing one very clever clearance in a congested area and shot out a good handball. Plent of others had worse 1st halves. Johnson and Mcmahon in particular who constantly turned the ball over.

And you are so set in the idea that he is a failure and will always be a failure that you think he is worse the he actually was.

first quarter was abysmall and Bling would attest to that too. Just couldnt get a handle on it. The whole team, bar Kinga and couple more, were pretty much in the same boat. 10 minutes before half time saw the change, 10 minutes into the 3rd quarter we were making them look like muppets. Once they all settled down, it was all over red rover. Blinga took control and realised how good he was....at ****ing last. ;)

kept my eye on Tambo from the second tier of the wing all night. His second half was excellent!

Head over the ball to earn a free, courage to back into a mark in front of a rampaging richo, his two bounce sprint down the wing, his possesions in close around the packs to dish off to a player. Gee there was so much to like.

Sausage, Krusty and Deliberate = Spakfila

WTF are you guys on? :thumbsd:
