Decision making. Far to many times we chipped, only to miss the target anyway, we had no structure across CHF and FF, the game was crying out for a Brad moran, a tall that can cover the ground.

they just smothered us accross chf.

Im not a brown basher, and ive given him a fair trott, but he was so ****ing weak in the marking contest it was redicuolous, Moran in Brown out.

Terrible game from so many players.

Makes you think that maybe too many have been reading about themselves in the papers.

Was very ordinary.

If Moran played we would've won.
By five goal.

Second to the ball, didn't run, lack of intensity.
We looked very tired.

I like it alot. Moran for Brown :thumbsu:
Who can we swap for Watt? BTW, it wasn't Watt's worst game at all tonight. But we know the best he can give & it ain't flash. Give a kid a go, they could not be worse.

Also lack of running to provide options for each other. Flat footed at the stoppages. These blokes are basically knackered. I generally don't like to see wholesale changes based on one poor result but a few blokes need a breather.

* WAY too may unforced turnovers. Wells was the worst culprit, put in a shocker. Sansbury yet again. Smith a couple of times. A few others I've succeeded in wiping from my memory.
* Centre clearances were a big problem : when we got it, it was a scramble, when they got it, they usually had time to measure the kick.
* We let them control the centre corridor too often, too easily.
* Way too few of our tackles stuck.

Another performance like that would be a disaster.............but at this stage, I'm prepared to say it was an off night, the Lions were in hot form, and look forward to the boys bouncing back against the Eagles next week.

It was one of those games. Brisbane thrashed us but they still constantly turned the ball over too - we just couldn't capatilise. Don't agree Wells was that bad. 20+ touches on one leg - played well.

we were disgraceful, our skills..turned the ball over far to much

we needed to use the corridor and didnt, at all

it was incredibly frustrating

moran shoulda come in for arch, browns out of it

swallow needs a rest, him n harrows disposal especially

lions did 2 us wat we did to cats

hopefully we can improve from this experience

Sorry, don't want to hear about 'on one leg'. Either he's fit, or he doesn't play.

At the ground tonight the first quarter felt like we were playing up hill, into a ten goal wind with an opposition that had 36 players.

Yet at quarter time I thought, we can win this.

Its games like these when I reckon Thommo would have made a real difference - a confident marking & accurate kicking full forward.

hale impressed me however didnt get enough chances, thanks to the midfield

even hamish had to spend a fair bit time forward to provide an option

I think Brisbane didn't allow us to have players free and running to space all night which made it very hard for us. It looked like they had 4-5 extra men on the field. I am disappointed that we weren't able to rise to the occasion.

No we were not switched on from the opening bounce tonight. The lose of arch would have not made much of a differance

I know brisbane humilaited us but arch not being a differance. That's rubbish. Please watch the first game we played against them and tell me if he made a difference or not.

Arch would have helped, but I agree, even he wouldn't have had much impact on the result. We were beaten in far too many positions.

We were flat footed. The number of times we kicked to a stationary target was unbelievable. Wells had a shocker by his standards. Showed again that we lack a silky skilled on baller.

Our game plan needed to change. Over the past weeks most teams have had more inside 50s than us because we zone back and allow it. But Brown provides to much of a target to play that way especially when all our defenders are shorter than he is.

Brisbane could only win if Brown kicks 5 plus goals. He is also number one in goal assists I think. Petrie had to play loose down back.

IMHO Laidley did not coach well. Laids has had a good year but I just don't know if he can turn a game.

I agree with almost everything you said, but its hard to put too much blame on Laidley (should put some), when we were just beaten in so many key areas on the park. When they are getting so much of the ball in the 1st Q and stopping us doing anything with it, there's not a lot you can do. I think some of his tactics probably stopped us from losing by 60-70 points.

It was actually one of Watts' better games, he played ok considering.

I haven't bashed Browny but he didn't play like a player who was grateful for the last minute reprieve from the axe. He was awful last night in most respects. One particularly soft effort was a heartless tackle on McDonald (?) in the third 1/4. He wouldn't have stopped my grandmother. Must be dropped again.

Swallow looked very lifeless. He might need a rest from the mental and physical pressure. He's had a big year.

I could say something negative about most of the players. It was just one of those nights. Better to just move on.

Your very harsh on Watt, his last month has been very good and he didnt stand out as any worse than anyone else last night. IMO hes definatley in our best 22 and when going well offers some good run out of defence.
Brown is frustrating in marking contests and i tend to agree that he should be dropped and it wouldnt hurt to give Moran a crack.

I thought that too.

But we'll be back.

I'm sure we would have played with more spirit and hardness than the crap we dished up last night. His presence, even if his not near the ball really injects life into the players and this is something im trying to point out . Who knows, if we would have won last night.
