One HD coverage of MLB

Does anyone have what early season scheduling one HD has of the MLB?

Alls it says on the website is up to 5 games a week, but I currently can't see any scheduling for early games

The first week is on the TVtonight website under Advanced Guides. Jed is right, sadly the golf (yawn) takes priority. I hope the DBacks don't get the same coverage they got last year - Trent Oljeten is no longer playing for them.

It would be nice to have a variety of teams and not the same teams over and over agree.

Lots of Dodgers games would be great :D

I second this!!

But seriously... I don't mind watching a few of the lesser lights play. It couldn't be worse than ESPN's NBA coverage. Good luck finding a game that doesn't involve the Spurs, Lakers, Cavs or Celtics.

I'm looking forward to the big Yankees v Red Sox game on Monday morning.

It was great that ONE HD started with two games. Not bad games too (both the Brewers and Padres came home hard but late).

It's disappointing that ONE HD sees fit to broadcast Elite Hoops, absolute junk they must have picked up for about 20 cents of which they telecast during the opening week of the MLB season.

I hate golf, an old man's game for young men who can't cut it in sports where the ball moves, but I understand why they will play it. Ratings, especially with the Tiger Woods circus in full swing. However they are failing to cultivate an audience for baseball by dedicating days to German soccer, obscure tennis events, beach volley ball and endless reruns of cricket and F1.

At least delay the baseball if you can't show it live.

Get your act together ONE.

Agree Roger - with the golf, aren't 10 showing the exact same coverage?

It is pretty sad that we won't see another game until Tuesday morning (I think). I know they can only show a few games, but if they can't show them live, a replay is just as good.

What annoyed me last year is they would change which games they would cover - I would take days off to watch a Mariners game, but on a few occasions, they switched to another game in the same time slot (like the Angels, Dodgers etc) and then would show the Mariners the next day.

ONE has tennis events. Where?

MLB will get their coverage throughout the year, next week they seem to have a few games on.

Yeah wtf is with that Elite Hoops shit? Can understand them replaying a game or two of it or even a have a game here and there live, but ALL DAY? over 3 days??

Just happy I have foxtel, although we don't yet have HD so would much rather watching games on ONE HD.

Ease up on golf will you. :( :D

It took a week or so to get their act together but some congratulations are in order for ONE - providing of course they actually broadcast the games they have programmed as upcoming:

TUESDAY
Boston Red Sox @ Minnesota Twins. New stadium, excellent pitching match-up. Full house. Lots of Target signs.

WEDNESDAY
Diamondbacks @ Dodgers. Dodgers will be strong at home. At least it's an division rivalry - NL West shapes up tough this year.

THURSDAY
Milwaukee Brewers @ Chicago Cubs. Another divisional rivalry. Both teams have much to prove. 4.15am start means it suits the insomniacs and unemployed.

Atlanta Braves @ San Diego. Merely by virtue that this game is at Petco will make it interesting although the Padres' offense performs better nearly everywhere else. Braves expect big things this season. Midday game.

FRIDAY
Baltimore @ Oakland. Neither team are powerhouses but great to see two ball clubs in a rebuilding phase going head to head. Nice one ONE programming. Some great young talent will be on display.

As soon as you try and do the right thing by ONE they let you down.

The Twins home opener against the Red Sox was not telecast this morning as advertised but rather the Cards vs Astros - a semi lackluster affair providing you don't mind watching Wainwright completely outclass a team sorely missing their clean up bat.

Who knows what we'll get next?

4:15 am start actually suits the employed... get a game in before having to go to work.

Have no idea why they would change from a Red Sox game...

Because that was an ESPN game. One HD don't have the broadcast rights to show ESPN games.

As for the game they did show featuring my Houston Astros, well we stunk it up again losing 5-0. Luckily there's 155 games to go in the MLB season, but it's going to be a long, LONG year.

But going by Roger Dodger's post, wasn't it was originally listed to be shown on ONE??

I enjoyed watching some of the Dodgers game this morning... especially as its the exact game (same teams/stadium) that I'll be at in May. Hope there are some HR's in that game too...

OMG, a Giants game on Australian TV.

It is on at 5.40am tomorrow morning on ONE HD, but at least it's on.

Will set the recorder to get it all, as Tim Lincecum is pitching at home against the Phillies.

Blue Jays vs Red Sox on after it too.:thumbsu:

Just happy to get a Giants game, finally.

Couple of questions with the TV coverage...

1.) I take it pay TV have the rights to the All Star game as one is showing it at 11:30pm at night?

2.) The way the net reds one will show the World Series live, but if the All Star is delayed who (Pay or One) will be showing the world series live telecast?

Fox have shown the WS, and pretty much every other playoff game, live the last few years

One coverage has stepped it up a gear. It might have something to do with the German soccer league and NBL having finally finished up. Or maybe more viewers are interested in baseball than say BMX, Rally Driving and Bull Riding.

Anyway, at the moment they are showing about three live games a week and one delayed, with two or three replays. If only the replays could be moved to an earlier time slot such as 11.00pm instead of 1.45am and later.

It's great to wake up on a Saturday morning and ease into the day with a ball game, too. And the occasional double header is brilliant like last Friday.

Best of all there is an even spread of teams. This week has and will feature Tampa, NY Yankees, Texas, Detroit, NY Mets, SF Giants, Boston, Oakland, NY Mets (again), LA Dodgers. Not bad.

One request: More games on the weekend instead of TNA Explosion. If you want to run a 24 hour sports channel don't show reruns of Pro Wrestling during the peak sports watching period.

Very disappointing no national League Play Offs being shown on one. It is good to sit back and watch replays of the American League, better then nothing when you can't afford pay:)

MLB.TV is just $19.99 for the entire postseason.

And One only has the rights for one championship series.
