Seriously doubt a trinitron would be digitally capable on it's own.

Too much golf on ONE for my liking.

It's not that much golf, only because most of it either falls in the last month or so and November and December it seems like that have a lot.

sounds excellent.

wil have tv channels like seven and nine be putting shoiws that do not rate well on their secon channel?

Eventually, I hope that is the case, but for now, they just show the same stuff, with the exception of late nights/ early mornings. But I like where channel 10 is going, the American Sports are sure to pull some viewers away from foxtel. Pity it isn't in my area as yet, and pity that AFL coverage isn't increased/ live over here.

Still though, there are some shows which they have already brought, but they simply don't rate well, or for whatever reason refuse to show on their analog channel. HD channels could be used for these shows.

The amount of homes with Hi-Def televisions would be increasing exponentially nowdays as SD televisions are slowly phased out or are becoming the cheap 'bedroom' television.

And, you got to remember that the stations have already brought the rights to air these shows, might as well air them somewhere instead of letting them gather dust.

the only difference this makes is we get to watch nba on fta for the first time in ... 2 decades

because foxtel has rights to afl; and afl is on foxsports 1,2 or 3 we arent going to be getting an increased coverage of afl

oh and shall we speak of what an abject failure the fox footy channel was :P

But who can afford hd technology? And is technology moving too fast for us?

The technology wouldn't be moving so fast for you right now :D

Can't wait for One, sure it'll be replays and filler, but it'll be FTA replays and filler!
