OnlyFans (no, this isn't for sharing explicit content)

I saw a girl in America on tiktok say she was homeless and needed money and started an onlyfans.

Her next video was thanking everyone after a few days and getting 10k in donations.

Most of the messages on the tiktok video were from older guys and it was very creepy.
Yeah, it's a lack of visual cues I think. Most guys probably go into a bit of a fantasy whenever they see an attractive woman where they're Sean Connery or or something and can pull off saying a bunch of creepy stuff, but their body language or actively getting shot down will generally get you to snap out of it before you embarrass yourself too much.

With these parasocial relationships you're just sitting in front of a screen, and you're Sean Connery image doesn't get shattered so you can get sucked into going off the deep end (the office culture of the past where women couldn't speak up if harassed I suppose is basically the exact same thing, a lack of genuine feedback allowing for idiosyncratic behaviour to crystallize into a socially-maladjusted personality). However I think most do eventually have a bit of self-reflection, and the weight of how weird their behaviour is crushes their sense of self and this is what I think results in your "kill all women" lunatics you get on the internet (redirecting self-loathing to a less discomforting place).

Women have more power to manipulate these desperados online than they would in person too. They play it for their gain.

I think it's kind of sad that something like this is now the norm of society but each to their own

Why? Where's the loss?

More women (and men do it too) being in charge of their ability to make a living off their attractiveness.
More sexually progressive attitudes.
More accessible adult material for those seeking it.

Beyond 'pr0n is bad', which is silly in itself, why are these things sad?

What kinda moron pays for this sh*t. pr0n is right there.
pr0n is, yes, but specific females you might find beyond the usual pornhub slappers may not be. If this is the only way to their content, why not? For a long long time Playboy and the like had a monopoly over certain models, it's no different, but now the people can manage it themselves

Who cares about specific girls, you’re beating your meat not dating them. Unless it’s catering something specific like the three titted chick from Total Recall, you can find similar in two seconds.

yeah, it's a depressing indictment on the economy and the influence of instagram and internet.

I remember about five years ago, a lass my mate was 'friends with' had a few videos on a pr0n website. we spent the arvo laughing about it and finding the whole camgirl thing pretty mental. I'm sure she would've been embarrassed if she knew that we knew.

these days nobody gives a shit and there is basically no taboo whatsoever.

weird world.

Just spitballing ideas a bit, but I think a loss is that it greatly contributes to social isolation since you can basically simulate an interaction you'd normally have to actually socialize to get. Combined with podcasts, youtubers, and social media it's very easy for someone to box themselves in when they start feeling depressed and spiralling. Unlike pr0n I think something like this would push the "I'm interacting" buttons in someones brain.

If I was born as a hot girl I'd be all over this. It's insane the amount of money you can earn. I'd never personally pay for pr0n (softcore material at that) but hey, if that's how people want to spend their money then whatever.

The only people who are against sites like this as a way to make money are religious nuts or dorks who spent 4 years at university just to end up filling in spreadsheets in some cubicle and dislike anyone who isn't earning money the "respectable" way by working a "real job" like them.

you guys wait til you find out about findom!

Give me money, bitch. Give me all your money now, and I might hook a thumb into the top of my undies and give you a glimpse of pubes hiding underneath my overhanging belly. That is all you get.

Sounds like an exciting career opportunity to me!

But you don't.

Onlyfans isn't stopping anyone going on any more than any existing pr0n service or even social media platforms.

Edit: read your post again. Fair point. I would argue this in is probably healthier though than Instagram, etc.
