Yeah, it's a lack of visual cues I think. Most guys probably go into a bit of a fantasy whenever they see an attractive woman where they're Sean Connery or or something and can pull off saying a bunch of creepy stuff, but their body language or actively getting shot down will generally get you to snap out of it before you embarrass yourself too much.I saw a girl in America on tiktok say she was homeless and needed money and started an onlyfans.
Her next video was thanking everyone after a few days and getting 10k in donations.
Most of the messages on the tiktok video were from older guys and it was very creepy.
With these parasocial relationships you're just sitting in front of a screen, and you're Sean Connery image doesn't get shattered so you can get sucked into going off the deep end (the office culture of the past where women couldn't speak up if harassed I suppose is basically the exact same thing, a lack of genuine feedback allowing for idiosyncratic behaviour to crystallize into a socially-maladjusted personality). However I think most do eventually have a bit of self-reflection, and the weight of how weird their behaviour is crushes their sense of self and this is what I think results in your "kill all women" lunatics you get on the internet (redirecting self-loathing to a less discomforting place).
