Who here goes Op Shopping? Anyone been able to find anything awesome for Op Shops? :)

Went to 3 shops today and picked up a pair of black Italian shoes for $6, a Mambo snapback for $2, a VB 'Warnie' shirt for $3, a Geelong 'I was there' 2011 Premiers shirt for $6 (had heaps that were donated by the club), an Arsenal soccer jersey for $9 and a Netherlands/KNVB soccer jersey for $3.

Very happy with my pick-ups. :)

I go once a year to the dirtiest places I can find and buy the very worst/unfashionable clothes for costume parties.

Yes I like op shopping - it requires a certain mood though. I just bought 5 50s style dessert bowls the other day.

I did something more frugal and embarrassing than op shopping. I went to a tip where there is a shop which sells things found in the tip - it's called a "recycled shop" - anyway I bought a hard covered, 1st edition copy of a book called "Their hearts were young and gay" - for a friend of mine - FOR TEN BUCKS!

Anyway i don't recommend going to a rubbish tip recycled shop, it's a rip off.

Literally a couple of times a week. There's a tonne of great opshops where I live/work, so there's always new piles of junk to check out.

Best score recently was a collection of around 60 vinyls from the Stones, the Beatles, Neil Young, Pink Floyd etc.

Also got a slide projector last week; I've been looking out for one for ages :)

Found one of these bad boys today for $6.

Still has the racquet cover too. The first massed produced steel tennis racket. Jimmy Connors won 2 Wimbledon's using these.
Put it in eBay for $40 and if it doesn't sell I've got a pretty cool retro tennis racquet for the next time I am unfortunate enough to find myself on court.

I go whenever I get the chance.
Found some rare collectibles from the 1980s once, cleaned up on eBay with those. Always seem to find obscure music titles and last week found a nice shirt for $4, plus a book on the Aboriginal cricketer Eddie Gilbert for $5.

Sister practically made a whole business out of Op-shopping. It's situated in regional Victoria, she's sold it now though. She combined her skills in photography to showcase this whole retro vibe. Was very classy I must admit. She ended up getting imports from the U.S. just before she got rid of it, and I believe she's still heavily involved with running the business and doing the shoots for all the products etc. She would spend the entire week getting stock with her husband, and sell out by the weekend.

I picked up some nice Jag shoes for $10 or so last year. Pretty handy when you're an out-of-pocket Year 12. Wouldn't dare tell too many people though.

an old mate decided to dress up as a homeless bum to a fancy dress party once and he went to some 2nd hand shop, bought the roughest looking outfit ever and he ended up breaking out in spots everywhere because of it. was a good laugh.

Always a good place to find a funny suit! Managed to grab a purple one, almost identical to the Joker's, for about $15 last year.

Mother ****er. Ive always wanted a purple suit, but could never justify the cost.

It happens. I bought a replica Evel Knievel jumpsuit last year and I swear it was made out of sandpaper held together by lice the amount it itched and scratched whenever I put it on.

$17. Would do it again.
