Thought last night's interview with Pert was poor.
would have liked Mike to go more into detail about his playing career, particularly with Fitzroy. The bloke was a star and it would have been interesting to hear what Fitzroy was like as a club etc.
Pert was a fantastic player, especially at Fitzroy. Gee they had some talent walk out the door. Imagine if they'd been propped up like Melbourne has been.

Gary Pert asserts that giving Mick a two year deal whereby he's sacked at the end of it won Collingwood a flag. I can't help but wonder if it didn't cost them one.

But yes, one of the more boring Open Mikes.
It won them one for sure.

Great footballer Pert, but as dry as they come.
Have to be honest it seems Mike is struggling to get the big names on the show now and it seems anyone- actually anyone who wants a dollar can have their own half hour.

Soon the boot studder from North Melbourne in the 1980's will feature next
Pert was a great player and leads the biggest club in the land. The potential was there, the interviewer failed.

We didn't have one then as we couldn't afford it.

That would be one of the more forgettable Open Mikes I've seen. Felt like I was watching an unemotional robot. Didn't smile or laugh once. An absolute corporate suit.

Complete contrast to Barnsey 2 weeks ago.

Pert talking about his playing days was good, but the second half was pretty dull as he is still so heavily involved at Collingwood. I think this format works best when it's people who are outside of the industry and don't have to give the cliches or stick to 'the message'.

I don't understand why he doesn't interview some one like Peter Matera / Dean Kemp from that era. Peter Wilson would be a good one - the guy is a complete campaigner in real life.

I didn't think he was arrogant, just honest about how he saw his career. Very entertaining interview, especially after last week's tranquillizer.

I liked the Turner interview. It was interesting television compared to some of the diplomatic say-nothing interviewees Sheahan's had on that show.

Turner seemed like a very intense type who takes things to heart. That probably doesn't make him he easiest to get along with, but definitely makes for good telle.

I use to have Ablett: One Special Season on VHS when I was younger, not even a Cats supporter but I would watch it all the time.

It's an in-depth interview with Sandy Roberts, during 1993 when Ablett was a human highlights reel.

Spoke about Leigh Matthews being the best/favourite player he ever saw on the field if I recall.

Seemed a bit bitter about Brian Peake...
Somewhat understandable as he was a better footballer than Peake yet Peake is in the HOF and he isn't.
I judge players on how they perform at the highest level and that was VFL.
