Sometimes when he interviews someone who has played and coached i find he does not go enough into either area or just focuses too much on one

Sheedy and blight got an hour, probably need that more often

He does have a tendency to harp on about single issues, especially with blokes who have had some controversy during their career. Which is alright if it's an long hour show, but in the normal half hour show it does take a lot away from what could be talked about.
 
I didn't mind the McKenna one, seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I think the Malcolm Blight ep is still my favourite though

I would like Plugger, Ben Cousins, Robert Mure, Mark Jackson, Wayne Carey, Darren Jarman, David Granger, Chris Lewis and KarMichael Hunt (not for the drugs stuff but more detail of his transition from the different codes and comparisons etc).
 
I'd like some of the lesser known's to appear on Open Mike.

Frank Gumbleton, Kevin Heath, Ray Biffin, Stuart Trott and Phillip Pinnell for instance.
 
McKenna certainly didn't move in the same circles as the Eagles Party Boys. I met Guy a couple of times through a relative and he certainly wouldn't have had a clue of what they got up too.
Don't get me wrong, he liked a beer too but Guy certainly respected the chance he had of doing something he loved.
I think it was probably his downfall as a coach, he trusted too many people
 
That hit on McKenna by the Carlton player was brutal too. My video chose to stop working at the exact moment McKenna was horizontal with the ground. Scary stuff.
 
Certainly wouldn't want to be playing on the big Duke.

Bluey played alongside a hard nut in Woosha but didn't he also play alongside another hard nut in Geoff Miles?

Certainly didn't say anything that would be thought provoking.

Having been to a Carey sportsman night, he was pretty adamant he wouldn't go on a show like Open Mike given every question Mike would ask him he has already answered elsewhere. And he said he had asked Mike what new questions he could ask and Mike was stumped.
 
Not sure if he was joking but Tim Watson mentioned that Leon Baker was filming an episode of Open Mike this week while he is in Melbourne.

McKenna was ok, some people have the personality to make it entertaining and he is not one of them but that doesn't make it a bad interview.

Would of liked a bit more discussion about the clubs first premiership and the hangover that followed.

Yep.. the story about the dog was awkward and seemed like something squeezed in to get enough material to actually make an episode
