I liked Neesham. Seemed to do something positive with his life by making an impact with an indigenous community (especially when it seemed it wasn't the money making path that he could have taken). Refreshing that the interview wasn't all 'I was a good player Mike', and 'those were the good old days' banter a lot of other guests can only conjure.

I guess they figure if they get enough old teammates talking about him, it will save them worrying about not getting the man himself on

Possibly.

Would that also apply to teammates of Plugger?

Who hasn't been on but needs to be? Must be running out of great interviews.

I'd like to see one of Wayne Jackson or Ross Oakley on Open Mike as well as the bloke in your DP.

Don't think I'll bother with tonight. I don't understand why you'd have Billy then McGrath within 3 weeks of each other

I am biased, but liked the Tim McGrath Open Mike. Only really mentioned Gary Ablett Senior is passing. Talked about his fight with cancer, and playing on Dunstall, Carey, Plugger etc., the Bali bombing, the losing GFs, Malcolm Blight, and the VFL 2002 premeirship side that had Bartel, Johnson, Gaz, Kelly, Johnson etc. in it and he was captain of.

Yep really enjoyed it. I had no idea until last night how disastrous his first few games at Geelong were.

What is everybody's top 10 favorite episodes?

Alan Stoneham: I thought this was the best episode so far. He was a talent who was expected to do big things, but never got the fairytale finish towards the end (no first grade premiership, being smashed by Dipper, injuries); it just seemed a real story of the average footballer. The tragedy years down the track with his son was raw viewing.

Kevin Sheedy: Was quirky, charismatic and occasionally witty. So many interesting stories from decades of involvment in the game that were told in kind of a tounge-in-cheek sort of way, "Not all snipers are in Vietnam" lol. Have watched this one about 10 times.

John Barnes

Martin Pike

Mark Eustice: This is probably the best (most powerful) episode in the series, but has no rewatchability. It is painful and tragic to watch a man go through a personal hell and still be in recovery limbo.

Glenn Archer

Rene Kink: His attack on Sheedy made it less censored and tell-it-like it is, couldn't care who he offended, was no longer involved in the circle of football with its cliques. A lot of guests can't say what they really think but this guy did!

Wayne Schwass

Dermott Brereton: His commentary can be a bit long-winded, but he summed up a lot of his life in and out of football in a very articulate way that was intriguing.

I agree with this, but I would find Jono Brown's as my favorite one

I really enjoyed it. I've never heard his story before, never even heard him talk before actually, but came across as a real likeable bloke.
Definitely one of the better eps this year.

Neil Kerley is my fav by a mile. Mainly because I didn't know much about him. Very entertaining.
